Spoilers Titans - DC Universe Series

Binged it today. It was different, but fun. Bit surprised we got no end for the season's arc, as is kinda standard for both DC shows and streaming shows, but okay.

I had forgotten about Seamus Dever being on the show, and I certainly didn't expect him to be who he turned out to be. Loved that. Also loved the post-credits sequence at the end of the final episode.

And while watching, I couldn't help but think of very specific people who certainly must hate it with a vengeance.

So, yeah, very much looking forward to season 2.

I really enjoyed it. Starfire and Beast Boy were my favourites but I also loved Hawk and Dove. It was gritty but fun. A pity the season finale wasn't shown as it all seems a bit up in the air right now.

According to the Business Insider, Titans and Young Justice were the biggest streaming hits of last week.

Well, that's bizarre. One of the best DC shows around (Young justice) and the worst DC based television series ever made (Titans) both hanging around the top of the list. As much as i love YJ and really enjoy Season 3 so far, any list of top shows that includes Titans is suspect. But, this is a world that gave billions to Michael Bay's Transformers, so I guess a psychotic, grimdark "fuck you" to a beloved comic series being popular isn't that unbelievable. Plus DC Universe is a new streaming service that a lot of people are trying out, and with literally only two original shows right now I bet a lot of people that get the service just watch Titans to justify the money they paid.

At the risk of being accused of posting click-bait again, Screenrant has shared Parrott Analytics information that reveals that Titans grew in popularity as the season went on.
Sounds about right. The trailers made it look pretty terrible so expectations were low going in, but as those that actually gave it a chance found it was surprisingly good, it meant some good word-of-mouth brought in others that might otherwise have stayed away.
Plus the show does a good job of building interest as the season went on. Each episode didn't just advance the plot and give a little character growth, it also expanded the scope of the world building with each instalment.

Just wrapped Titans up last night. Hol-ee-shit that wasn't what I was expecting.

When I saw that first "Fuck Batman" trailer months or years ago, I actually thought Titans was an upcoming movie and it immediately left my mind. So when I saw the trailer on Netflix around Christmas, it kind of caught me off guard.

The show definitely had some flaws, my biggest gripe being the story needed to be tightened up a bit. But on the whole, the edgier tone just...worked for me. It really set it apart from the DC shows on TV (which I think are complete garbage - all of them.)

I have no problem finding DC TV shows worse than Titans.

As someone who has watched at least an episode of every mainstream series based off a DC superhero property (not counting things like Human Target or Powerless), I have never seen a worse show. Birds of Prey was better written (and somehow more faithful to the source material, and its Black Canary was a psychic for some reason so its pretty pathetic that a show could treat its source material worse then BoP). Hell, Lois & Clark was better, and I almost included it with Human Target and Powerless as a show that really isn't connected to the comics at all outside of 10 second superman cameos every so often. At least it didn't have the main characters become psychotic murderers.

Titans is what happens when talentless hacks who worship Zach Snyder are given a comic book based TV show to make (except they end up being worse then him, since even Snyder would understand the concept of a hero called Dove, and that man doesn't understand that Batman hates guns and killing).
