Time's Cafe

Think of all the episodes of TREK, all the different series, where characters traveled back into Earth's past (movies too). If they all passed each other in the time stream, and just the main characters, and if there was a Cafe, a Denny's if you will, in the time stream, how many of them would have met to share a cup of coffee at one time?

^^^^

See the Captain's Table series that Pocket Books published a few years back.

not quite what I meant...

We have Kirk going in time four times I think? Edith/AF pilot/Gary7/end of Naked Time/Voyage Home..so thats six times? So, if your whacko like I am, doesn't that mean SIX Kirks could meet somewhere in the stream of time at this mythical cafe? I bet SHATNER would love to film six of himself meeting at the same time!!!

Here's another one of your threads I don't really get.

Okay..we have several episodes and movies that have our heros traveling back into earth's past. If, somehow, all those who are traveling through time could meet somewhere in the time stream, just imagine who would bump into who. Kirk alone could meet different versions of himself...but if you think about it, Quark and Odo could meet up with Janeway and crew as they travel through time to end up in Modern LA, while waving at Sisko and Bashir as they return from Earth's riot era they visited.

If there is a time-stream, and they all traverse while traveling through time, what interesting team-ups could be done if they, while traveling the stream of time, saw the others traveling as well...

Hard to put into words, I know..

Actually I understood your post...I was just griping.

What about how many DeLoreans there were in 1955 in Back to the Future?
There was the one Marty brought back in the first movie...there was the flying one Biff 'borrowed' to give himself the almanac, there was the same flying one that Marty and Doc went back in to try and fix everything and there was still one in the mine that Doc left there since 1885!

Huh..I hadn't thought about that!! good one.

How about this one...who made the glasses that McCoy gave Kirk in KHAN, if they are the same glasses he sells to the owner of the pawnshop in 1986, and supposedly, McCoy accuires in the future and gives to Kirk...

Rob

Why does everyone assume Kirk gets the same set of glasses back? If nothing else, there's the issue of the broken lens.

Now if the lens wasn't broken, that would be kind of interesting...

It was pretty clear to me that after Kirk sells the glasses, the only issue was that for some period of time there's two sets of "identical" glasses.

that would hold true IF the glassed McCoy gave to Kirk in Khan weren't the same ones that Kirk sold to the pawn shop...

But Kirk seems to hint that they are the same pair when he says.."And they will be again..." So, for all we know, they are the same glasses...

Rob

so the glasses are a touchpoint in the timestream that people would keep coming back to (like the date in Back to the Future in 1955)? Kind of like a rock in the timestream eddys swirl around and deposit debris?

yeah...kind of like the watch in SOMEWHERE IN TIME. It never leaves the hands of Chris Reeve and Jane Seymore..who built it? Perhaps the glasses in TREK and the watch in TIME are omnipotent beings!

Rob

haven't watched that one in a while - will have to give it more careful attn.
