Spoilers Timeless: Season 1 on NBC

It's a killing field.

Time after time is cancelled, Frequency cancelled, 12 monkeys "ending", and making history is in the toilet.

It'll be years before someone will be brave enough to make another new time travel tv series.

:(

Can I get some more Time Travelling Bong though?

At least Frequency got an ending, and 12 monkeys got 3 series...... I hope Time after Time (and Powerless) air the rest of their episodes eventually, at least....

It seems like time travel series last a season, two at most. Sliders had 5 seasons, so maybe alt-history series work better.

Her name is Jiya. Although apparently she managed to get through an entire season without being given a last name, even in background material.

Heck, Penny on BIG BANG THEORY has managed to get through ten seasons without a last name. :)

Cleavant Derricks is both a masochist and a saint for sticking through to the full term on that turkey.
Or he needed the money. The Kro-Magg storyline killed the series, as far as I'm concerned. Well, that and John Rhys-Davies' departure.

Actually, there is a time travel series that hasn't been canceled. Outlander is coming back for another season later this year.

Travelers has Netflix money behind it now, so they got five seasons ahead of them easy. :)

Legends is close to cancelled, or should be, and Flash is so lop sided with time travel, that they got to take a complete break form it next year.

All I remember about Journeyman is about how much I hated the pilot, and rageful I felt when it wasn't renewed... Oh and something about his kid flicking genders because he missed a booty call with his wife.

Thank goodness the suits at the CW are not paying attention to you. As for "TIMELESS" . . . good-bye NBC. I won't be watching another series from that network.

I am still pissed at NBC for cancelling Quantum Leap.

Really, you should be grateful to NBC for keeping it around as long as they did. NBC's president at the time, Brandon Tartikoff, was a huge fan of Quantum Leap, which is the only reason it lasted that long. It never had very strong ratings, and most networks would've cancelled it much earlier, but Tartikoff really stuck by it and did all he could to support it, promote it, and keep it around as long as possible. And he got it 5 seasons, which at the time was a remarkably long run for an SF/fantasy show. Prior to Star Trek: TNG, just about the only American SF/F shows that had ever lasted longer than 5 years were Adventures of Superman, Dark Shadows, and Bewitched. And there were only a few 5-year runs, including The Twilight Zone, The Six Million Dollar Man, and The Incredible Hulk. So it's really kind of amazing that QL lasted as long as it did, and that's because of NBC's exceptional support.

People always want to blame networks for cancelling shows, but it's the audience that decides a show's fate. Even if network execs love a show, they can't afford to keep making it if viewers won't watch it and advertisers won't pay for airtime on it. And even if network execs hate a show, they can't afford to cancel it if it brings in huge ratings and profits. If you want to blame someone for a show's cancellation, blame the audience. Yeah, sometimes the network is complicit by failing to promote a show or jerking its time slot around or forcing harmful retools on it, but even the most supportive network execs can only keep a low-rated show around for so long.

A little surprised but not overly disappointed. I liked the show enough but, like Christopher, I'm also tired of the "One World, Long-Lived, Governmental Conspiracies" thing. The number of shows that do this is too high and I doubt it was something the show could have kept going much longer but, alas, it needed a reason for characters to do something.

It's too bad the season didn't end on "an ending" and instead left plot threads hanging that'll now never be resolved.

But I liked it's season good-enough. Decent, throw-away, fun. Sort-of like "Limitless" from last year, I suppose. One season but a decent arc. (But at least Limitless had the good sense to mostly wrap up its story.)

I liked the show to a degree, but the government conspiracy thing was a little ridiculous. The time periods were great, but the characters constantly bickering and spying on each other got old.

Time travel shows are like The Highlander, there can be only one, so it's only right that the show with the best and most realistic depiction of time travel survives, congratulations Legends of Tomorrow! :D

#### me. There's 8 episodes, and I quickly found four of them on youtube.

This is going to be awful.

Wish me luck.

You can't blame the audience if the studio/production company gets sold and the new owners decide they don't like gothic fantasy.

That's why The Crow: Stairway to Heaven had only one season. It had been renewed, but never got to make the second season or even a TV movie to wrap up the loose ends. The show literally ended on a cliffhanger (okay, a bridgehanger...).

You may never again mock me for reading the print version of The 100 (which wasn't anywhere near as bad as this stuff you just posted).

I got through the pilot, and 1/2 of the first episode. It's awful.

I was not commending this dodo, I was discovering it's existence.

Sure, in 1992 I would have been over the fricking moon if it played on a Sunday after noon and I noticed, but that ship sailed... I should have known that this was lurking out there, so what good am I?

I thanked you for reading those children's books.

I'm watching The 100 s04e11 right now. :)

Sorry, my bad memory. It's been awhile. :(

I'm way behind on The 100, like back in the 2nd season. I should set aside some time this weekend to spend on Netflix (with an appropriate amount of junk food), and catch up.

I kinda got sidetracked by binge-watching Outlander. Twice. :D

Outlander is good.

The 100 is pretty predictable. Every week they try to make easy choices, when someone morally indignant forces them to make a difficult choice instead.
