PARIS: Not yet. Didn't want to spoil the festivities until I was sure.

KIM: Tom, if it'll make you feel better we'll go to the Holodeck right now, run a few more simulations. It's probably just a sensor glitch.

Later, in the Holodeck, Paris and Kim are at their stations on an otherwise empty holographic bridge.

Paris: We're at full impulse.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

KIM: Engaging Slipstream Drive. Quantum field is stable, deflector at maximum

 

[LeadHead]

Paris: Slipstream velocity in 4, 3, 2...

On the viewscreen we can see the image of a ship entering the slipstream.

Paris: Power output is steady. Quantum field is holding.

KIM: Shields down to seventy three percent.

 

[LeadHead]

Paris: Looking good, keep that deflector aligned and we should be...

Red alert lights and alarms go off.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

KIM: We've got a phase variance. Point one, point two

 

[LeadHead]

Paris: Remodulate the deflector.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

KIM: No effect. Point four.

 

[LeadHead]

Paris: I'm shutting down the drive.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

KIM: No, wait. I want to try to invert the Quantum field

 

[LeadHead]

Paris: It's no use! The slipstream is collapsing!

On the screen we see the slipstream change to normal space, Voyager is shaking violently.

Paris: Inertial dampers are off line.

COMPUTER: Warning. Hull breach on deck ten.

 

[Orac]

Kim: We're losing structural integrity.

 

[LeadHead]

Paris: Computer, freeze program!

 

[JanewayRulz!]

KIM: One more time. I think if we reroute emergency power to the deflector a little earlier...
