Tim Russ

It is pointless making Vulcan comparisons. It is not a competition. There is only one Vulcan, the earliest Vulcan in the timeline and all other Vulcans can only hope to stand in his shadow.

Taurik... or something like that. He's his twin brother in the novels.
TNG 'Lower Decks' (only know because saw recently in my 'watch TNG all way through for first time' ).

VOY was my first-love series, so Tuvok will always and forever be embodiment of Vulcans to me. So droll, so dry.

I'd say you've got Spock as the clear #1 (no pun intended), then a really interesting conversation about who's next with Sarek, Soval, and Tuvok all included. Tuvok has the advantage of being a series regular for 7 years, but Sarek and Soval have strong points too.

Because we got to see him for 7 years, Tuvok has my vote.

"Then, as I am half human your record remains untarnished."
NuSpock.

Therefore we can ignore Spock without in any way dissing him as a character.

Soval WINS followed by Prime Sarek (NuSarek was horribly cast IMHO) and third runner up is Tuvok.

Eh, Tuvok is alright. I actually like Vorik the best as Vulcans go. He doesn't come across to me as quite as snobby as most other Vulcans can be. Even Spock irritates me sometimes.

Like Tuvok in Flashback. "It's a wonder humanity has managed to survive so long having so much fun" or some quote like that. Sure, maybe he has a point, but the line reeked of so much Vulcan superiority that it turns me off to the character. Like Captain Solok from Deep Space 9... why are they in Starfleet if they can't stand more emotional species? Is it fun for them to remind humans of their failings all the time?

That said, Vorik isn't completely devoid of this characteristic. He says "of course" when Tom mentions his good memory in "Alter Ego" and he suggests to Torres in "Blood Fever" that his Vulcan control could help curb her temper. What's different is the attitude behind it. Most Vulcans have that "no sh*t, Sherlock" tone of voice to them. Vorik doesn't have that as much. In the first instance, it sounds like he's just stating a fact. The second, it sounds like he's genuinely trying to be helpful.

And I'm not trying to say I like Vorik because he's more "human" but I do like that he seems more warm and sociable than say, Tuvok. He got into the spirt of the luau in Alter Ego. I guess what I'm trying to say is I like Vorik because he seems genuinely interested in participating with others and not acting all put off at the emotionalism of everyone else.

Anyway, I know this a Tuvok thread so I'll stop there. I like Vorik's character so I wanted to defend him a little.

I didn't like Vorik as a Vulcan because he was too sociable and nice, and he didn't stack up against Tuvok. He was alright as a character though, and I wouldn't have minded them using him a bit more.

WHUT.

Well I'm not talking about being best buds with him here, I'm talking about him being part of a race established a certain way. The problem isn't even that he's nice, as there's nothing illogical about being friendly, but it was more how he played it. It didn't feel Vulcan. Then again, I'd probably look a lot more favourably on him now after having seen ENT. :vulcan:
But he's on the same show as Tuvok, so he can't really compete there.

I thought he was an anal twat. Which I enjoyed, I was just taken aback by your adjectives.

And I'm taken aback by your adjective and noun. (Trying to imagine how that anatomy would function.) :guffaw::guffaw:

Poor Vorik. :guffaw:
