Of all the people ever connected offically with Star Trek, be they an actor/actress-writer-producer, or whatever, which person has always kept a positive light about the Franchise no matter what...they may point out a small thing here and there, but overall, they present a positive spin on what they did and what Star Trek is about.

By the way, I went with Jonahtin Frakes. I have seen him several times, talked to him once, at conventions, and the guy seems like a totally nice guy. AND!!!! I have to give mister Frakes kudos. Robert Scorpio was a main player, and will be again, on General Hospital for years. Through his wife Genie, who played Laura on the show, I was able to get a personally signed autograph of Tristan Rogers..thanks again mr. frakes!!!

I think the whole TNG cast has remained pretty positive. Someone said in another thread that they all seemed to genuinely like each other and enjoyed working together in the Star Trek universe, both on TV and on the big screen.

Yeah, Frakes and probably DeForest Kelley. I think the Niners were proud of their work for the most part even if not all of Trek, Robert Picardo seems positive, as do Billingsley and Bakula from Enterprise.

I'll put another one in for De Kelley. Everything I've read from him about Trek was always very positive and he always came off as being incredibly grateful for every opportunity that Trek afforded him.

I like Wil Wheaton but I'd dispute him as being over-whelmingly positive. I think he's a little like a lot of fans here in that he loves Trek very much and is therefore protective of it. So he's critical of it a good chunk of the time. Just his recent comments on the new movie would suggest he doesn't "always [keep] a positive light about the franchise no matter what"

Frakes is very impressive and seems to genuinely enjoy the time he spends with the fans. Comes across as being very down-to-earth and very much the family man.

My favorite is Aron Eisenberg, who overcame such enormous health difficulties so has a great appreciation for the opportunities afforded him by being part of Star Trek. He's a really good sport when the other actors treat him like he's a kid on stage and stays good natured, joining in with the laughter and banter. (everyone seems to forget the man's 39 yrs old and has an 11 year old son). Seems like an all-round nice chap.

Again, he's very family focused and comes across as a well-balanced person. Appears to keep things in perspective. I think we'd probably see many things eye-to-eye with each other.

One of the things I like about him is that he doesn't play the star or draw attention to himself. I know that's part of the game, especially at conventions but in Aron's case, he seems honored to be there. He doesn't expect anyone to pay him much attention, not forcing the issue but getting involved where he can and being surprised when fans want to talk to him specifically.

I think he was under-used on Trek and not recognised for the work he did. There's a subtlety, sophistication and depth to the roles he created. Look at him in Voyager's "Initiations" with Chuckles.

I always liked his character & never knew it was a hated character until much, much later. I had the chance to hang out with Wil and very much enjoyed it.

Jimmy Doohan would give the shirt off his back for someone in need. He was an amazing person who gave me much needed advice and encouragement during my brief foray into Hollywood. I miss him.

I'm surprised no one mentioned George Takei. He grilled me for an hour or so when Star Trek 5: Shat's Folly flopped. (It was the beginning of a friendship I am grateful to have had.)
Not only has George remained positive about Trek, but he has helped others keep it alive. He's even helped with fan productions.

As much as I like Takei and Doohan, and that I generally agree with them when opposed to Shatner when it comes up, I think based on the premise of the thread their feud with him would disqualify them from being people that are basically always positive about Trek since their relationship with Shatner is very much about their experiences with Trek.

Well, I have met Takei twice and find him to be stuck on himself. I have met Shatner twice, and once for a whole two hour flight, and found him to be totally interesting and full of interesting trivia spanning his career. I side with him against Takei and the other lower rung TOS characters...I mean, thats all they ever amounted to be..IMO.

Never met any of them so I bow to superior knowledge base(s). But everything I've read about Doohan leads me to believe he loved being a part of Trek-Shat not withstanding. And unlike Takei, he didn't go out of his way to Shat-bash. So Jimmy D is my pick.

I know I'm going to sound redundant, but I have to mention DeForest Kelley. He was always so positive about everything. It was infectious, and picked up my spirits whenever I had the honor to see him at a convention, interview, whatever. I feel truly cheated that I never got to sit with him and chat.
