Thread for Production Q and A

Flying Spaghetti Monster

This thread is for anyone with questions about how an episode or movie scene was made, or general production questions that you might have that others might answer or theorize on.

Here's my question...

Starting with TOS, but it was something I noticed all through all the series; whenever there was a person like Uhura on a monitor, and it was a wide shot so the monitor was very small in the show, the person in the video was shown as a closeup, but when an actual close-up of the video screen was shown, you can see more of that person. For example: check the teaser for Trouble with Tribbles. Why does this always happen?

Why is it that whenever a Klingon ship explodes, they just use that static clip of a random Klingon getting blown down the hallway? Can't be that expensive to create a new scene.
