While, its nice work, this os not my cuppa. Its,trying so hard to look retro and it kills it for me.

How is it in any way nonsensical, this is done all the time. Have you never watched modern dr.who? Read comics? This happens all the time.
I'd imagine after the show is cancelled/ended the assets really don't matter anymore.

To be fair, adding a 3rd arm on the chest is tricky and hard to make look great.

I could live with something like that, color-wise. More the bridge than the uniforms.
I actually added the left & middle arms from another pic. Still not easy, plus the coloring was a little hard.
He looks good, I do not care for the cage colors, I never liked them. But I think you have did a fine job on the look and have added the arm pretty well. I mean it always kinda looked oddball and never really flowed in a pleasing manner.
These "assets" are computer files. The ways in which they migrate from machine to machine are...myriad.
I know a lot of people who have some of these files - the TMP special edition Enterprise, the NX-01 from the TV series Enterprise, various ships from BSG. I very much doubt that Trekyards has "all the assets" from anything.

Tried to do the same thing, but there was just so strong blue hue in the image that wasnt satisfied with the result.
