It looks like a Kilngon ship on the outside.
Klingon ships look like Federation ships. That's because Jefferies based the design on an earlier Enterprise design.

Matt Jefferies' Constitution class plans next to Matt Jefferies' Klingon battle cruiser plans for comparison. This size comparison graphic of the USS Enterprise and the D7 was production art designed by Matt Jefferies and featured in "The Enterprise Incident".

Not seeing any real grunge in these shots. It's not just the shapes, it's the grunge.
That is a lovely shot.![]()
I'm just fanboy-ing out over the fact she has a golden deflector dish! Yay!
Also, I think she visually fits nicely between ENT and the TOS-movies. And by extension, also TOS itself. Starships from each era are allowed to have widely different looks in my book, if they are designed for a widely different mission spectrum. An F-35 jet looks widely different than an A-10 warthog or a B52-bomber, even though all of them are planes currently in service in the U.S. Airforce.
The TOS-Enterprise is the shiny flagship to show around. This seems to be the muddy workhorse.
Boom! Irregularities in optics explained.
I thought when it came thru the clouds it reminded me of the klingon vor'cha class
Just another day in LA.But what does it show? The ship emerging from a gently swirling nebula, or breaking out of a transporter-inhibiting dust storm (depicted with some poetic license) to pick up the two heroines?
Timo Saloniemi
It just looks beautiful. Visually appealing. One of my most favorite visuals is when Voyager crashes along the ice. The ship, the ice, the drama is white and stunning. That image (above) all gold and emerging I really like. But what does it show? I was thinking more like Beijing. It does make the lasers during the castle show at Shanghai Disneyland stand out nicely.Just another day in LA.
I've seen "$10 million per episode" bandied about the internet, but don't know the source. I know the Netflix international deal gave them a huge cash injection.Does anyone know what Discovery's budget looks like?

The reports from months ago said around $6-7 million per episode. How true that was then, and how true it is now that they're doing two extra episodes in the season, we don't know yet.I've seen "$10 million per episode" bandied about the internet, but don't know the source.
