Thoughts on a Nemesis Extended Edition?

Hahaha. Thanks for the clarification. And truthfully, I actually enjoyed the library scene quite a bit, even if it was kind of goofy. I also liked the references to ketrecel white and the Dominion War.
Anyway, if they ever decided to make extended editions of these films they could always include both the theatrical cut and the extended cut to please everyone.

I'd see an extended cut of Nemesis.

I'd really like to see the few deleted scenes from First Contact and Insurrection though. Frakes has said there aren't any, but I've got photographic proof of some. They may not be long scenes but they still exist...

For that matter, I know it can't be done because said footage was damaged or such, but I'd love to see an 'original' cut of Generations just for the hell of it.

Nemesis actually has done better in it's second life: fan ratings for the movie have been up, and it did sell well as I pointed out. Since the franchise can take advantage of it's own continued popularity, ie: STXII, there might be an extended release of the film.

Well, the 2-disc version of Star Trek: Insurrection has a number of deleted scenes included, although the famous Quark scene is not. Nothing for Star Trek: First Contact, though.

Nemesis got so much flack. It wasn't perfect, but there is far poorer quality Trek out there if you ask me. It had a lot to do with the times people.... That "era" of Star Trek was over 15 years old. Hey, there are good episode of "Enterprise" too, but you don't hear a lot about them. Give Nemesis a break!:)

I agree that it's not as bad as most people say, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. :)

Same here. I like the movie and watch it from to time, as I do with all the star Trek films and TV shows.

But it could be improved.

Such as give Shinzon a real reason to hate Picard. I can understand him wanting to survive, but really, he has no real reason to hate Picard because there is no real personal connection between them. He also has no real reason to hate the Federation at all either.

My biggest complaint about the movie is the role of Shinzon. If he is going to be a clone of Picard then have Patrick Stuart play a dual role!

I wonder if this was even considered!?

Was the original script even written as a dual role? The plot point of needing Picard's blood for Shinzon to survive would need some modification.

For what its worth, I don't want a Nemesis Extended Cut. What I want is a complete Nemesis reboot. With a different director. Nicholas Meyer, for instance.

I guess it depends on how much of the unseen footage involves Shinzon. If there's a lot of cut Shinzon footage lying around and if TDKR is a smash (and why won't it be?) then you can pretty much book it.
