Those new hand phasers (*SPOILERS*)

^Oh, I'm not saying that anyone should be shooting from the hip, in Trek (or anywhere else, for that matter), in fact, I think it's all too rare that characters don't "aim" their weapons. I'm simply saying that Phasers (pistols at least), don't necessarily need sights.

One think I've always wanted to see with phasers was some sort of laser dot sighting option. Was kind of hoping for that in the movie, but I will probably never get my wish.

Well, it's been somewhat proven that grips similar in angle to the Phaser's fit and point quite naturally in the hand (think the Luger P08), and from owning a replica of the original TOS phaser, I can say that it points quite naturally. You don't need to adjust it once it's in your hand. The new phaser looks to be the same way.

I use to have a Stoeger Luger (modern stainless remake), and I agree it pointed naturally.

It kind of had to, cause the fixed sights on the Stoeger Luger sucked!

i didnt care for the phaser opticals in this movie.they were too reminiscent of blasters from star wars. i always liked the disintegration effects from tos.i was hoping we would get a similar effect in this film.minor nitpick.

Yeah. Me too.
