I had recorded them on DVR and watched them later last night. Wow I have always been down on season 2 but these were 4 very good episodes in a row!
Elementary Dear Data- Got a bad rap for being a "Big Goodbye" redux, but its more developed than that and with a higher entertainment factor. It actually turns into a very sensitive episode, with Moriarty becoming quite--and pardon the term--3 dimensional! Awesome acting and production design! RATING: 9 out of 10
Measure of a Man: Never get tired of this episode. Melinda Snodgrass may not have liked it much but its one of the greats. Even with Will Smith's I- Robot its the best positronic movie or TV show ever. Stewart and Spiner deserved Emmy's for this episode. RATING: 10/10
Time Squared: An underrated little gem. Whether you choose to believe that like its original intent, it was Q who was jerking Picard's chain before he made his appearance in "Q Who" or it was something else, this episode is tense from after the teaser onwards. Again, Stewart delivers a sterling performance, as he questions his very developed sense of curiosity and assuredness. The scene where he commits "suicide" is still powerful. RATING: 9/10
Q Who- Rivals BOBW as the best of the Borg with Q thrown in for good measure, once again questioning the very core of humanity's desire for exploration and advancement. The scene where the first, then second Borg invade the ship is one ofthe series' most memorable. Kudos to Rob Bowman, one of Trek's best directors for making this one stand out. 10/10!!
STNG blew away all TV currently on the air this week, sci-fi or otherwise with this little exposition of intellectual and creative muscle.
