This is why deep space 9 was my favorite ST ever!

Hi guys
I would like to let you know that i watched all of these star trek series fully:
The next generation
Deep space nine
Voyager
Enterprise
few episodes of the original
I simply couldn't really enjoy the original because the effects were too old for me. For example the bridge looked from inside like kids old video games (you know know what i mean)
Although i respect it because it is very classic and original that's why i appreciate it.
Also my mother loved it and watched when she was young
she the one who introduce me to the whole Saga.

Anyway the reason I loved deep space 9 the most is because they made it the closet thing to the real life.
Unlike the other series which seemed to me too perfect and clean and also too tied by their Instructions
Deep space 9 had much more flexibility. That's why captain Sisko was my favorite one.
Deep space 9 was more like a small city and it had all kind of visitors comes to it.
good and bad people.
next to a worm hole.
not mention the characters where the best in my opinion.
i am also glad that Worf joined them in season 4 and he's the one who made the series much better

The Ferengy character Quarck was also a main reason that made the series very interesting
because it was really hard to tell if the character was a good or a bad guy
He was just selfish but also had a good part in his heart.
and it was very fun watching him fighting with Odaw all the time, it was also very impressive seeing them getting along or teaming up some few times.

Also the plots in the series was the best and it was also very coordinated to a one after another and they had their clear enemy from the almost the beginning until the end.

And I loved the final Armageddon battle scene with all of these different races (federation - Klingon - Romulan) fleets teaming up against a common enemy and also the cardassians joined them later on. It was just awesome and it was unforgettable scene.

these are the main reasons why I loved DS9 the most.
Also the ending was so touching and sad when the whole family start saying good bye to each other.

I felt like i was part of that family and they where saying to me their good byes :(

the second favorite ST series was the The next generation it had its a lot of fun and the characters was so good and i loved them and it had interesting plots. it was more separated then each other but that what made it fun.

I liked Voyager but the plots where kind of start becoming frequent, most of its episode was more about Negotiating an alien race to past through their territory.
The doctor was my favorite character he was interesting and funny
but he also reminds me of commander Data somehow.

ST Enterprise was more fun in the beginning but the its start getting boring after they start focusing too much about time travelers and i found it confusing and hard to understand. Unlike the bad guys in deep space 9 where very easy to understand, they simply wanted to conquer and expand their empire.

These are just my opinions i hope that no one would take my criticism personally

I think that DS9 had worse filler episodes than TNG and TOS, but it had the best battle scenes by far. More than anything, I like DS9's funny episodes. 'Evil Worf' and slave Garek would make for a hilarious spinoff book series all their own. Bashir's holodeck fantasies were better than anything they did in TNG.

So I guess DS9 isn't my favorite, but it was excellent when it took risks and did things that TNG would never do. I also liked seeing a different perspective of the Trek universe. Like you said, the flagship would always have the best and brightest, while a backwater station near a war zone would naturally be very different.

One thing I would like to see more of is a series that really explored parts of the Trek universe on a planetary scale. I think there was a missed opportunity with all of the lore of the Bajor and ruins not being shown. Obviously there is the problem of a television budget, but I would very much like to see more of the primary worlds in Trek lore. A good but weird example would be planet Zebes from the Metroid games. All of those ruins, creatures, and environments would fit very well into a Trek story, even though they were only a throwaway part of a nintendo game.

I guess you're right about the filler episodes
because it was hard leaving half of the characters in the station and the other half in a ship exploring. That what made it kind of pore
but some episodes though had tow different storys one for the station and the other in the space it was kind on fun and interesting
what made it fun also is that they had so many characters and most of the episodes couldn't bring them all at the same time .
that's why you get to miss them before seeing them again.
I also agree with you about not showing much about Bajor
but i guess its because they didn't had enough support to do these kind of advance effects we see in the expansive movies
especially at the beginning of the nineties it wasn't easy at all that time doing that kind of thing.

I like TNG the most because that's the first one I watched and I felt the characters were most interesting. Picard, Worf and Data are three of my favourite characters with Geordi being a cool secondary character. I didn't like DS9 originally but it grew on me once Worf joined. I think this bcause none of the characters grabbed me the same. Sisko is ok, Dax cool but used incorrectly originally, same with Odo and Bashier, I liked O'Brien and Quark but I didn't like Kira. I found her very annoying but that's just me.

TNG maybe the most fun to watch in a different relaxing way if you know what i mean, and also its better when its get about short mysterious events.

But DS9 is kind of more serious and the events more following one after another.
Each one has its different good thing about it

I agree with you about Kira. she is so arrogant and annoying.
but trust me she is nothing compare to Wesley crasher. I Hated him!.
but am glad he left at SE 4 i think and only came back few episodes later

DS9 and TNG go back and forth being my favorite series. DS9's definitely more rewatchable for me now, but that is only because I watched the entire series of TNG over and over in high school and college and I only just started watching DS9 over and over.

I don't know if I'd call DS9 more realistic, just more similar to modern political dilemmas which can make it more relatable. They're both equally unrealistic, they just each focus on different elements of the human condition.

Yeap I agree with you Jirin
am start watching now the original series now
it turned out its fun to watch.
maybe even better then enterprise

in the other hand In TNG my favorite character was Data then Worf
But Worf even played a better rule in DP9 when he start doing things on his own way

In DP9 though the most character i liked was Odo, he was never annoying and he get's funny and cool, and you all also feel so much sympathize with him.

its all Thanks to Quarck my second favorite character that given him that cool rule.
without those tow DS9 would've never got that chance of this success

but the problem with DP9 is the female characters aren't that good
Dax was fun but she also kind of boring and flat and i don't really remember many things about her

because if someone want's to make a good female character it has to be much more then about sex and romance.

how ever the new Dax in season 7 was more cute and likeable.
even the new acting was better
I felt so sorry for Worf though he had to end up alone again :(

Oh, don't feel too sorry for him. I think he actually likes being alone.

Besides, he gets to be Federation ambassador to Kronos. It's a great honor. More than he could expect, since his career advancement in Starfleet was going to be limited by his abandoning his mission in Change of Heart, and by firing when he wasn't sure what his target was in Rules of Engagement.

That's why i liked worf in DS9 more
he dose things on his own way
in TNG he was too restricted by his instructions
but still i felt bad because Jodziah was about having kids form him before getting killed
i wasn't really sure why they only replaced her at the final season, is it just to show Dax feelings toward
Bashir or is it about the actress wanted to leave the show?
the new Dax was better but they should've brought her earlier though
