This is the most gut-wrencing scene in all of DS9

That image says so much.

Jake wondering if his father will ever come back - never getting to say goodbye.

Kira wondering if Odo will ever return and also knowing that the Emissary of her religion is out there - having saved her planet.

But I have to say this one is more gut-wrenching.

It really is. The whole sequence at the end where Kira is walking along the Promenade and sees Jake on the upper level makes tear up every time.

I can't watch it without getting teary eyed...

Best. Ending. Ever.

And the scene where the Defiant is destroyed by the Breen. When Sisko calls to abandon ship, and that alarm starts sounding, it just sounds so sad.

"Jake...my sweet boy..."

Gets me every time. That and the one where Jake and Nog give The Sisko that birthday card...the music really made that scene and gets me too :wah:

LOL NO. I felt very little emotion in that scene. In fact the combination of useless Jake and Kira's awful hair made me cringe a little bit.

She was a good little ship...

Just noticed something.

@OP, you might want to change that photo into a link or host it somewhere. Hotlinking isn't allowed.

This scene nearly brought me to tears when I first saw it.

Never before has a Trek show done this.

Ever.

l thought it was good- showed that adventure would continue- not sad.

l felt worse when Remata and his boys died. :(

I think perhaps one of the more depressing scenes in DS9 would have been many out of the episode where Jake tries to get his father back through his life (noted on page one).....

..... But also Dukat having his daughter shot in the back by Dumar and dying in his arms. From such a height and confidence in Dukat of almost winning the war... and then suddenly within minutes, everything comes crashing down and he becomes a broken man after having the final insult to injury of his daughter being killed in front of him and holding her body in his arms, especially when their last conversation ended in an argument.

That was pretty brutal, especially after already losing his wife and other children after they found out about Ziyal..... add on top that he basically single-handedly gave the station back to Sisko and put the Cardassian/Dominion alliance on its heels..... no wonder he went nuts.

I know one gut wrenching scene would be in Duet where that Cardassian pretending to be a war criminal breaks down sobbing while describing the atrocities the real war criminal committed.

It originally seemed liked one of those boring 1st season episodes, but after I saw a youtube clip of that scene, it never seemed the same afterwards.

And Jake.... I dunno, he seemed pretty much like a normal teen to me- The Visitor seems to be an all time favorite with many viewers, and Jake seemed to have sold it with his performance (although Sisko's was the main performance IMO.)
