this is not good. In hospital.

Good luck Bob. You'll be out of there in no time, I hope. :techman:

Remember, the hospital food is now approved by Lloyd Grossman. Doesn't that make you feel better.......

Who's he?

I'm looking for and want to stay at the hospital where the food is approved by Guy Fieri.

Hope you get to feeling better soon, Bob. I remember dealing with extended hospital stays when I was a kid. Worst one was a one month stretch after I'd been in the hospital 6 times in the previous 7 weeks. If I'm ever stuck in one again, even for just one night, it'll be way to damned soon.

Get well soon, Bob. My thoughts and prayers heading your way!

J.

well I woke up at 3am, exhausted my self just getting up to go to toilet because my back was stiff and painful again. By the time I got back to bed I started a coughing fit and brought up about 100ml ish they've put me on 4/l of oxygen nd have me sat resting in the chair. Not really helping my back not getting up and around but better that than more blood.

Geez, that sucks!

Hope you feel better soon, so you can at least go home and sleep in your own bed.

Have you got a TV in your room Bob? There's some fun stuff on tonight, including a New Tricks (I know I know but bear with me) spoof on the X Files. I'm going to make up a tick list of cliches for it.

In my local hospital you now have to pay for the TV.:klingon:

Damn, I'm sorry to hear this. :(
I hope the episode of last night doesn't happen again.

Sending good thoughts your way.

Yeah, there's a telly, but much like the phone suffers from terrible signals.

I've had 2 more bouts of coughing blood today but oxygen seems to be keeping it under control.
Saw the infectious disease specialist and good news/bad news, almost certainly not swine flu, but he now thinks it's possible it's a bone infection with my back pain. So spinal X-rays mri scan, and and echo on my heart cos they just did a general abdominal echo earlier.

It's good that it's not swine flu. :techman:

Now let's hope it's nothing serious at all, and just some annoying thing that won't cause any major damage. :)

Sounds like they're trying to exclude all possible causes of a positive blood culture for Streptococcus, which is a sensible thing to do if they can't find a positive source for the infection. It's always good for ID doctors to pounce upon even the slightest symptom if no obvious source can be found - the most surprising things can be found that way.

Still, IV antibiotics are still the first line of treatment here, and it's only been 24 hours. If they start having an effect on the infection and a source can be found, then hopefully you'll be out of there sooner than later.

Get well soon. :)

Bob, I hope you get well soon. I enjoy chatting with you in the gaming forum and I'll miss that. Hopefully they'll knock this infection and you'll be home sooner than expected.
