Anyone else looking forward to the follow up to Shane Meadows This is England, which will be airing on Channel 4 sometime soon, probably in September.
I only recently saw the original film but it's made me really look forward to the series.

I have heard of this is England but have never seen the film.
I hope CH4 will put the film on before they show the series.

We rented the film from Netflix last year. It was a fairly brutal and sad tale of how one lonely little boy finds friends in a gang of teenage skinheads.

It was a great film, but I don't think I'd want to watch a whole series about it.

^It's only a 4 part mini series, I believe, and it's set 3/4 years later and focuses more on what Shaun and his friends did during the football fever of the time.

Having recently seen some other Shane Meadows films I think I can safely say I'm expecting it to be great.

I think Combo is going to be in it, as far as I've heard that was the plan but I've not seen him listed as a member of the cast...

The film will be on Channel 4 the night before at 11:10pm.

Anyway, This is England was great, I can't wait for the sequel.

Just read This is England is getting another series, this time set in 1990.

From Broadcast

This Is England is to return to Channel 4 in a series that will follow the main characters - Shaun, Woody, Lol and Milky - four years later in a snapshot of the 1990s.

C4 head of drama Camilla Campbell has greenlit the series, which has an unconfirmed TX date.
“This Is England will be returning to C4,” she said. “It is a continuation of the same characters four years on, looking at rave culture and the World Cup. Shane [Meadows, writer and director] is brimming with ideas and we are really excited.”
The number of episodes for This Is England ‘90 has not been confirmed and it has been mooted that Meadows could push the show forward through time over a number of series, so it ultimately comprises around a dozen episodes.
