Third SG-1 movie is Stargate: Revolution

I'd like to see the, now, older cast - Sam, Daniel, Teal'c and Jack - hand the reins over to a younger cast - Cassandra, a younger linguist, Teal'c's son and Jack's clone.

I hope that is a joke because the fanbase would defintly not go for that idea. Thats 90120 not SG-U :p

You got 90210 out that?

First, all those actors are now in their mid to late twenties. And the characters can be any age the writer wishes them to be.

Second, a good writer and writing staff doesn't have to make it a 90210.

I'd like to think we didn't overthrow the Goa'uld just to install a galactic monarchy in their place. SG-1 the Second!

Well, Mitchell is Jack's clone. :D You're right, the SG-1 concept, like Star Trek, could go on forever with cast changes; there's nothing tying it to those original characters.

Wow, so you weren't joking with your suggestion?

There are still plenty of stories with the original premise of the storyline. Of course, the original charactes (and actors) are getting too old to play them out, but that doesn't mean those stories can't be told.

Maybe the revolution will be having the Stargate revealed to the public. It's way past time for that to happen and would open up more story opportunities for SG:U.

I'm thinking something like this. It's easy to think of a revolution as an overthrow of a government, but revolution can mean a radical change in anything that relates to our way of life (such as the industrial revolution or the computer revolution). I think that the introduction of accessible planet travel and alien culture to the public at large would qualify as a revolution in our way of life.

Of course, the issue would be making the story work; but I imagine the crux of it would be some kind of alien threat that the U.S. government is finally unable to cover up. There could be a more personal reason central to the story, but O'Neil would of course be the center of it because he's currently the head of the stargate program (Homeworld Security Chief).

If the movie is about the revelation of the Gate Program to the public, it has to happen after Stargate Universe (at least as much of SGU as we've seen). Chloe's mother threatened to reveal the existence of the program, which is still very much a secret program on the series.

I want this movie to remind me of the days when SG-1 was actually good. ie. seasons 1 to 6. Maybe 7.

No fanwanky AU storylines (Continuum), no replicators taking over half the plot (AotT), no ridiculous technobabble (SG-1 latter seasons), and no loooonnng boring scenes that drag on for ages (Continuum). No silly paper-thin 'Trust' or 'Lucian alliance' stories. O'Neill, not too serious, not the walking joke he was in the last few years.

Good, classic action adventure SG-1 please, with the original 4 characters, going through the stargate.

Oh and if someone can ban the actor who plays Dr Lee from ever appearing on the show again, that'd be good.

Amen!!!

Like others I think this will be the last SG1 movie, and I would like them to go out with a bang. No silly, contrived plots, and especially no time travel or alternate reality crap.

I do however have to disagree about Dr. Lee. I liked the character and the actor.

I'd be happy if they didn't bring up anymore Jaffa politics storylines!

I would be very happy if Browder and Black aren't in this.

Ditto. Browder was ok but sometimes his character just got on my nerves. Black. BAH. I hate Vala so much I can't stand her.
I think Browder was an ok supstitute but I liked O'Neill better. Vala, however, was a great character!

And I'm with those who liked Dr. Lee. He was an amusing character.

And Capt. Jennifer Hailey!
I'd like to see what happened to her as well!

Frankly all we need is Teal'c, Sam, and Jack. I can't stand Daniel or the actor that plays him since they brought him back to live in season 7.

Browder's my only reason to watch it.

But I'd much prefer that he get some better-written sci fi franchise altogether and leave SG-1 to RDA's phone-it-in acting style (which frankly is all it deserves, so good for him). :bolian:

Couldn't agree more. RDA is a lazy SOB these days. RDA is a one trick pony that lost it's one trick.

And yet he is still better than Browder.

Totally agree about the Daniel bit. He used to be likeable when the series was fantastic, but season 7 onwards he just seems to have this nasty, arrogant streak to him. Then towards the end he just turned into Jack Lite with all the sarcastic comments. Not great really.

Sour grapes.

Do you guys believe everything you read?

He's an actor. He plays a character. It's all make believe.

What exactly have I 'read'?

It's my opinion that the Daniel character wasn't great after Shanks got back.

No, he most certainly is not.
