Think Back: What was that ONE episode that hooked you?

I watched DS9 from the beginning. I liked it from Emissary, and by season 3, I knew it would be my favorite Star Trek show.

To DS9? Way of the Warrior. I watched it before that I think, but that was probably the turning point in the series for me. Not a Worf fanboy or anything, but the series seemed to get some direction starting around S4.

Sacrifice of Angels... my most watched episode. I believe the first I saw and remembered though was Improbable Cause / The Die is Cast

I've been watching since Emissary. Local TV aired Emissary just after Time's Arrow pt 1 and continued with DS9 as a replacement for TNG.

At first I thought I'll never get used to Trek without Picard and fellows, but the Emissary suprised me plesantly.
Since then I've watched more-less regularly, but I didnt care that much as I did during TNG's run. Our TV stopped at the end of S3.
Then I had longer DS9 pause, started watching Voyager and suddenly, after few months (maybe more then half a year) I caught an ep of DS9 and I stood there astonished: WHAT THE HECK IS WORF DOING THERE???? It was "Starship down".

Since then I watched with great passion and interest and I caught the rest that I missed later.

Thats my DS9 story :D

I've been rewatching DS9 as of late and this week went through the second season, which was where I first started way back when. I used to watch Star Trek round my friends house probably when I was 14, and it used to be TNG on a Wednesday with DS9 on Thursday. I got into TNG during it's last season and DS9's like I said, during the second; I think The Circle trilogy were my first episodes. It was All Good Things that suddenly made me want to go out and watch TNG, DS9 and the new VOY for myself though. I think it was the last stretch of really good season 2 episodes that eventually had me hooked on DS9 - Crossover, Blood Oath, The Maquis, The Collaborator and certainly The Jem'Hadar.

Strange Bedfellows when it was on Spike a few months back. This was the first episode of DS9 I've seen since I think season 2 when it first aired. I know it's late in the game series wise, but when Kai Winn agrees with Dukat, I thought to myself "This is so not like Trek, I gotta watch more! :D "

I watched them in syndication... a bit casually. "Duet" saddened me- but I found it "necessary" and I liked it. Overall- "The Jem'Hadar" got me hooked, episodes like "Hippocratic Oath" and "To the Death" and the subplot of "Meridian" kept me there until the Dominion War... which was mostly quite awesome. I also liked Season 5... maybe a bit more than a lot of 7 which sometimes seemed to have an awful lot that didn't involve a war- which was weird because... they were fighting a war! LOL

i remember watching 'Emissary' the night it premiered. after that i only watched every now and then. watched 'The Jem'Hadar' during its first run and was hooked ever since.

I watched them on and off from the beginning of their first airing on BBC 2, but I was really not a fan of the first two seasons, I found them cumbersome, boring, unsure of themselves or where they wanted to go. But Season 3 was a real turnaround, getting better and better. Then it culminated in The Adversary which totally hooked me. Odo's line at the end was great.
Looking back, season 3 is even better than I realised then, it has fantastic build-up stuff for the Dominion War, politics and so on developing almost behind the scenes, and a real sense of 'rising danger'. Brilliant stuff.

I watched DS9 from the start, but despite the odd very good episode (Duet etc), I wasn't completely hooked until the second season finale, 'The Jem'hadar'. After seeing the Jem'Hadar ship ram the Odyssey, you just knew that this was a whole different Trek than what had gone before it!
