Things you'd like to see in the novels

I would love to see Lwaxana Troi interact with the Voyager crew. I could easily imagine her trying to seduce the Doctor and I can only imagine what Seven would make of her.

I know I've mentioned this several times, but I would love to know what happened to Barash, the kid from Future Imperfect. IMO that's one of the biggest threads left hanging from any of the episodes. I was always under the impression that Riker was going to be taking the kid up to the Enterprise to stay, but then he suddenly disappears with absolutely no mention anywhere ever again.

^ Someone saw him screamed "Oh My God it's a Space Bug" and shot him with a phaser.

But in all seriousness I wonder what DID happen to Barash. Maybe he'll appear some day?

Lwaxana unknowingly tried to seduce a hologram, but he wasn't the Doctor. The Doctor's personality interacting with Lwaxana would be really fun imo. Plus I can imagine Janeway trying to put up with Lwaxana's nonsense. I just think there's a lot of fun potential for that mix of characters.

Another kid I wonder about is Rugal from DS9's episode "Cardassians". Did he survive the war (he wure would have been a lot safer if Sisko hadn't decided to send him to Cardassia against his wishes)? Did he ever make contact with the O'Briens again as Miles offers to him at the end of the episode?

I'm not sure if that isn't metioned in any novel (I haven't read them all) but I'd also like to know what became of Tom Riker.

He is a major player in both Double Helix: Quarantine by John Vornholt, and Triangle: Imzadi II by Peter David.

Didn't Rugal appear in one of the relaunch novels?

An alternate future Tom Riker also plays a big part in the DS9 Millenium trilogy ( specificly book 2). Excellent trilogy I highly recommed it.

Not yet, though I expected him to and still hope he will.

Thanks for all the info about Tom Riker. I guess I will have to check out more TNG books.
I have started reading the Millenium trilogy... twice actually - I got a lot farther in my second try but it just isn't my kind of book. But since it's more AU anyway I'll rather read the other suggestions I think.

And one of the TNG e-books in the Slings and Arrows series.
Erm, no he doesn't. The spectre of what he did in "Defiant" hangs over A Weary Life, but while Tom is very much the subject of conversation and thought, he isn't actually in the story.

i'd like someone to use Alex Munroe and Telsia Murphy from the Elite Force PC games...
That would be awsome. In fact I'd love to see the whole team from EFII, I'd especially love to see someone give the Klingon (who's name escapes me) a backstory because I've always wondered how he ended up in Starfleet.

I am slightly disappointed that the TNG/DS9/VOY books announced for the next year and a half are all set after the runs of the respective shows, nothing 'during' the show. It is like we can't go back. While the TOS years are pretty darn full of stories from TV books and comics, there's still room for more novels set in TNG, DS9 and VOY time.

I'd like to see what happened to Jason Vigo, the Skrreeans.
I'd like Prof "Smiley" O'Brien at the Academy, with Icheb as a student.
I'd like Captain Hikaru Sulu to appear in a regualr series.
I'd like a story about Garth of Izar in his prime.
I'd like a deep character study of Shran, and another one of Soval.
I'd love Naraht to come waddling in to the Relaunch books.
I'd like the Klingon kids from Selva to show up on the IKS Gorkon.

just a few things

Martin and Mangles just put out a new Sulu book not that long ago, Baptism in Fire. I haven't read it yet, but I have it my stack waiting fo rme to carch up with some older Trek books. A Martin and Mangles Sulu/Excelsior series would be sweet.
