Things You Regret Not Doing Earlier In Life

I should have started socking money away for retirement a lot sooner. Especially when the government matched it up to a point.

Another thing I never did, earlier or at any point in my life, was learn to drive a car
I actually don't regret this

To be true to myself and where I am in life.
I was always swayed by peer pressure or even just particular social norms (be married by a certain age, get degree and then job, move out of home by a particular point in your life etc...), I always felt guilty that my life was more free flowing. But the more I lived it, the more I enjoyed it and I realised that I am not a particular type of person.
Now, I have a great job, steady income, an active social life, I have a lot of fun and can mostly do things when they suit me. Since leaving school, I mostly had all of those things but I felt a hesitation to let it go.
It still feels great to this day, I just wish I had learned that in my earlier teens.

Never learned to speak another language, which is odd. It just never came up. The regret is that I've heard that kind of brain exercise (being multilingual) is good for later life brain health/strength. Sign language translators on tv always make me think about that.

I suppose I could still do it, but I don't really have any need of it, as it is, & would be doing so just for fun, which is a much less disciplined way of taking on a challenge like that, in adulthood. I'm much more focused when learning things I need to learn or learning things I'm utilizing routinely, like if someone with a different language were living with me.

If you regret taking a year off before college, try 29 years. Well, not quite that long. I did go back at some point, but never really finished. I'm just not the academic type, I suppose.

I don't regret not getting married, nor having kids. I haven't lost my virginity. I guess I'm not the romantic or marrying type either.

Come to think of it, I've lived my life the way I choose. If any of my personal experiences or choices make my life unconventional, then so be it.

Regret... was a monkey on my back I could not shake. Regret is a useful tool, if you put it to good use. It is intended to motivate change. But it should always have an expiration date. If you don't let it go early enough, it can metastasize... and then be with you for the rest of your life, or until you get some good psychological chemotherapy.

Falling in love with someone and they are being in love with me... Maybe this happened at some point before in life? But. Just not like it is right now omg.. Probably I was not open to loving myself enough to do any love relationship right. Omg.. Don't wait ever. Selflove into love of others is so very wonderful and I have missed out on this for my whole life. But on the light side I think this is getting me to live longer.. :)
