Things That Make You Mad

Let me rephrase my post since it's causing such a stir...

I don't like when people that are friends of mine who KNOW the phrase "beam me up Scotty" was never said, say it to me because they KNOW that I KNOW the phrase was never said, just like they know it too. It's friendly banter among friends but it's one of those things that irks me a bit.

Brie,

As you are modelling, I have two questions:

1. How do you intend to be in the Star Trek 2016 movie, can we help?

2. Your twitter account is, let's say, not unpleasant to the eye, what is your opinion of how the next Star Trek series should be when it comes to hot actors? (and kids having access to Star Trek)

Sorry to get off topic, - as for the topic of this thread: My major annoyance is the CONSTANT mix up with Star Wars. Of which I'm not a fan. Arggg.@#@#@#

haha you have no idea how much I would love to be part of one of the ST movies it would be the best thing to ever happen to me! Sadly I'm in the military and that takes up mos if not all of my time. Once I'm out though I will be all about that!

As for that, I wasn't always "attractive" if you look at my post "How Star Trek Changed My Life" you can see a little back story into my past. I personally like to see people of all race, gender and physical appearance in ST, or any show for that matter. It has always helped me (in any show) to relate to a character when they aren't overly fake, made up models (which is odd being that's one of my professions). I like seeing normal every day people in shows. It is always nice to have a hot person to look at, and it's good for gaining viewers, but for fans relating to a character I think their shouldn't be so much emphasis put into the looks aspect of a character.

We had the Khan typo problem. Some typos are annoying, some are funny. Most of them are certainly not intentional.

New Frottier for instance. "Frottierhandtuch" means terry towel.

Lucky me, I´m typing via notebook, not smartphone. So my typos are not smartphone-related.

Elsewhere I started a Khan Quiz

How do you spell Khan?

A: Kanh
B: Kahn
C: Khan
D: Knah

The answer is .....?????

E: Nahk :guffaw:

(in cooperation with Mr. J.Archer from the Cross Cult Forum)

I have a confession. Every time I write the name Chekov I have to look it up. I want to throw an extra 'h' in there and my mind starts spinning and I panic and look it up. And I have been watching this stuff my whole life!

Okay maybe if I hung out in the TOS forum I would get over this or.. maybe not since I have looked up B'Elanna quite a few times too
I still get miffed when I see "Ryker" or "Sisco". "Chekov" I can almost forgive because of Anton Chekhov.

There's a reason I tend to call B'Elanna "Torres". ;)

Latest typo: Krik instead of Kirk! Captain Krik to the bridge!!!!!!

Or Krk. And Krk is, I didn´t know that, a Croatian Island.

Star Trek IV: A Whale of a Time

(notice the double-entendre pun?)

words fail.... :techman:

They fail me, too. What's the racy, sexual innuendo second meaning?:wtf:

I suppose, if you like your "dance partner" on the heavier side, then more power to you.

Why would I get annoyed at someone attempting to make a connection with me on a topic they knew I had an interest in and getting details wrong?

You should see me talk sports, "hey how 'bout those.. sports"

My favorite is "sportsball."

Like this? :D

Precisely! Especially when they sports their best.

Thanks to an autocorrect botch a few years ago, she'll always be "Banana Torres" to me :)

In the spirit of the threat, you know who makes me mad? Whoever thought it would be a good idea to name Torres, "BLT." She should've punched Burke back when they were cadets, then jump out and punch the writer, too.

Honestly, that's actually a bit too realistic to me. My mother's maiden name had the initials BLT. Then there's my name. Seriously, go look at my name to the left, which is my actual name. Not to mention the fact that my first and last initials are "B.O.". Couldn't catch a break in middle school, which thankfully is now 30 years in the past.

I think there's a difference between feeling something on the inside, and being rude on the outside. I interpreted the OP as asking about what I feel on the inside. I do feel irritated when hearing what I mentioned above. How I respond depends upon how people are trying to interact. If it's an effort to reach out, all is forgiven. You'd think people in my age bracket would be past saying things like, "Ew, you like Star Track," but sadly you'd be wrong.
correct, it is how I feel inside. I'm not gunna turn around and yell at someone because they don't know Star Trek as well as me.
