Things that frustrate us all

FB-IMG-1711910326255.jpg
you don't live in florida i guess

This rant is directed at myself.

You stupid cunt! Why? You know it's con season and yet you brought a bed and fitted sheets. No, it doesn't matter that the fitted sheets were on sale, you should have waited!

Oh, And why did you have to that private dentist? You know there's a public dentist that doesn't cost you shit! And yet you went to the private dentist TWICE! You should have acted like a Karen and refused to pay!

Because when you went on your first time they just looked at your teeth and said that they have to be cleaned, did you do that? NO! You had to be a goody two shoes and payed for both times when the pulic dentist doesn't charge you two visits for cleaning teeth!

Oh and on top of con season you got two yearly health insurance bills, one for membership and one for the insurance itself, AND your rent increased which you knew that would happen since oktober last year! And yet wasted precious money on a bed, fitted sheets, and two visits on a private dentist!

You're lucky you still have your mother and grandparents who still give you monthly allowance!

The Librarians have a spin off coming like Leverage got Redemption. However, two problems exist. First, in the US the show has had a DVD release. If you want HD, you have to import from Germany. Second, it’s on Kanopy with a library card. But the episodes aren’t in the correct order.

One of my favorite comedians, Brad Stine, put it this way: "You know what offends me?...offended people." He went on to explain it like this: "The good thing about offended people is that they're so easily offended, that they are the ultimate wussified, politically-correct people. So they say, 'You've hurt my feelings', I respond with 'You, too', then they go home and sue themselves. That's funny."

Ran into a frustration on my job hunt the last couple days. I applied for a job at a big department store and I got an email saying they wanted me to do a recorded interview where I record myself answering interview questions, but when I got the email it was in Spanish. I checked the email repeatedly, and I looked all over the website, and I can't find anywhere to request an English version. The only thing I could find was that it said to call the store I was applying to and ask to talk to their HR person, which I really don't want to do, because I'm afraid I'm going to end up in an endless game of phone tag. It always makes me a little nervous about what it's going to be like working for the company if they can't even get through the application and interview process without totally screwing everything up. Since I've decided to go back to grocery or department stores, I've got plenty of other options I can probably get hired at, so I'll just try somewhere else.

Call them once. If you can't get ahold of them or they don't call back, move on. You are under no obligation to play phone tag if you don't feel like it

The Google translate tool is very good and should give you the jist of each question. Or your web browser might have a translate option that pops up when you open the email or is accessible from a drop down menu. Or you could use it as an opportunity to visit the store and impress them with your eagerness. They might even say to forget the video interview and ask you to come back for a face to face or do it there and then.

Google Translate is invaluable to me because one of my favourite games and mods for it are made by Russian and Ukrainian developers so I use it to read Lua scripting and navigate Russian websites.

Honestly, it's the incompetence that bothers me more than anything. Everything I did up that point was in English, and I never told it to I wanted anything in Spanish. I've got at least a couple other stores that I'll try instead.

Always call and request accommodation. Employers do not like being unaccommodating, especially with languages. HR departments are generally and 8 to 5 gig wherever the homebase is.

It really frosts my shorts when people say diseases "don't care", like "Covid doesn't care" or those obnoxious ads that say "Shingles doesn't care". That makes no logical sense! A disease isn't a person! It's just fucking THERE!
Which one bothers you more - that they're factually correct, or that its just so painfully obvious?

The obvious part.

Yeah, yeah, I KNOW covid is still out there. But don't say "covid doesn't care". It is not a living being. It is not capable of "caring".

The fact that I hate that phrase in NO way indicates I'm a covid denier or that I think it's gone. THAT is also obvious. ;)
