Things that frustrate us all

Working the 3 days between Christmas and New Year. work from home and told last week on team call don't worry about doing much just make sure available for support calls.

I'm in on my own, rest of team is off.

So boss messages me yesterday and says 'while its quiet this week can you do this job, only about 3 days solid effort needed to do it.

I suppose I shouldn't be frustrated as I'm at work but the number of unpaid extra hours I've done this year is an awful lot, just annoyed when it think you might take it easy for a couple of days then something gets landed on you.

Think with the situation I mentioned before on this thread with my performance review and other things I need to have a good think about what to do next job wise.

Anyone a Comcast user? Remember how you couldn't sign in last month unless you changed your password? Turns out they had a massive data breach and just today sent me an email about it!

But there have been stories online for the last week.

I hate the fact that my mom became hypochondriac since covid, I hate it even more when when I get sick and she's immediately like you should see a doctor. Today too, I followed a diet for a few months only to quit because I couldn't afford my dietitian anymore but I still followed her advice.

Result, I can't eat as much anymore. Which clashes with the holidays meals, I threw up today too and almost on Christmas eve. And my mom says you should see a specialist. And then we argued about how I think she's overreacting and she's like stop blaming your diet! Sigh

On a new year break with family in a big cottage. Amazing that some (the younger adults) must live in self cleaning homes, homes that pick up pots and glasses left on surfaces throughout or magic clean pots left in the sink with leftover food in them.

Frustrates me as wish I had a house like that.

I am so glad I was asleep at the turn of the new year. Makes it almost impossible to be exposed to the abomination known as "Auld Lang Syne".

Our neighbors' obsession with fireworks is really drives me crazy. Last night they started at 6:00PM and went pretty continuoursly until at least 10:00 when I fell asleep. Then of course at midnight the whole neighborhood went nuts with tons and tons of fireworks going off all around us. Of course freaks our dogs out, so spend the whole night barking and going nuts.
And now they've fired off a few tonight too.

Are you sure you don’t live in Hawaii?

Yeah, it sounded like WWIII around here last night.

For once it was actually quiet around the apartment complex. I turned in at 9pm and put my earplugs in. I didn't hear a thing and the cats didn't seem too bothered.

A neighborhood started at 5 and went until 10.

I went to bed at 9. Didn't hear the rest. If became an issue I would call the police, since aerials are illegal in my state.

Today was supposed to be a simple day. I turned in to a ridiculously stressful hauling of a pallet's worth of insulation on a truck because they didn't bother to tell us it would be on a pallet and so had a fun, stressful, drive home. Surprisingly didn't get pulled over.

July 4 is like that in my neighborhood. The fireworks go way, way the hell into the night.

I flee my house on the 4th. Usually I crash at my dad's place that night but last 4th I stayed in a hotel.

I fucking hate fireworks. I am seriously suggesting that all private ownership and use of fireworks be banned outright. You want to see fireworks, go to a damn show.

Go for it. People will still do it.

The number of illegal fireworks set off in my area alone funds part of the local reservation for at least last quarter of the year. So, even if it is banned (and it is in a neighboring state) it will still happen. Good luck enforcing it all.

Yeah, my county and city banned the use of fireworks, but every Fourth of July, or any excuse to light them off, people will light them off.
