Things that frustrate us all

I'd like to do the same, but my wife's mom lives with us, and we have a couple things specifically for her because she's used to how it works.
I understand. We do have one for my wife's grandmother who lives on our property.

But, more my point is a willingness to walk away from a bad whatever when it comes to media. No media is worth aggravation.

Totally agreed. I have all the ST shows (and literally hundreds of other series) on dvd, but I can't easily access those sets currently. (Except the complete TOS remastered set and a handful of other shows.)

Otherwise, I'd drop pretty much every service except Amazon Prime... and I keep that only because I get it free already.

Behind two cars on a residential street. Approach a tiny roundabout. First car goes though no problem. Second car decreases speed to almost zero and takes so long the light up ahead turns red right just as I reach it.

The Wegman's near me is about to close. They announced it a month ago but this time I went half the aisles were empty, so it's nearing the end.

Before I had that Wegmans I would go to Shaws and Stop & Shop, but back then I didn't do any cooking, I stayed with packaged foods which they do fine.

But I tried to shop at Stop & Shop a couple days ago. They didn't have a real chuck roast, so I bought their thin sliced, and then when I opened it all the inner meat was brown, making it super obvious it was nitrite brushed. And they don't even have handles on their paper bags. Or an actual Asian food section so I will need to make separate stops at Chinese groceries now.

The closest full sized Wegman's to me now is like a 30 minute drive, and the only other grocery store near me is a Whole Foods. I need to find some kind of grocery store near me with an actual decent meat section.

A true irritation...

On a streaming service, you put a show you are watching on pause to get a better look at a graphic, uniform, ship, or whatever... and superimposed over the image is a huge ad for whatever.

Especially annoying when you are trying to make sure what you are thinking about is indeed accurate.
I hate that.
Hulu thankfully doesn't yet.
I'm not sure which version you subscribe to, but the one I have does do that.

South Florida heat.

It wasn't until after 9 p.m. that the inside of the house finally got below 88 degrees.

I am really not looking forward to August...
Ugh. I'm sorry.

We had a massive storm blow through here last night and it was nuts. Hail, wind, lightning and torrential downpour and it was done in 20 minutes.

My wife thought she saw tornados forming. Thankfully nothing touched down.

Wow. I don't think I'd make it without ac anymore.

The really frustrating part is we had the ac on the whole day. The temperature outside was so bad that the inside of the house wouldn't lower.

Sounds like you got lucky. We don't really get tornadoes here, though they can form in the middle of hurricanes. Which is what happened with Andrew... after that hurricane, you can clearly see areas of what looks like the aftermath of a tornado running through, in addition to the main storm. You'd find damaged areas, but then single lines zigzagging through certain blocks where it was completely wiped away. Had to be at least a dozen spots that I remember being like that, and that was just in the zones we could access. A lot of places were completely cut off due to trees, giant debris, and ships blocking roads. (You read that correctly... ships. And I'm not talking about little dinghys. I'm talking yachts. I remember near where the Burger King headquarters used to be on Old Cutler Road, there was a large lake that was separated from the ocean by a fair amount of land... and a big freighter was floating in that lake. Only thing that could have possibly put that freighter there was a surge strong enough to lift that ship up past the land and into the lake. I always wondered exactly how they got that freighter out... it was too large for a group of helicopters to lift. Only thing that comes to mind is it was taken apart.)

I remember reading about Andrew. Yes, we were very lucky. We live in a Valley so the weather can be unpredictable but it pushed through hard but very fast.

And my wife goes, "If this is what Florida deals with regularly I'm good not moving."

Honestly, as much as I hate the weather here, it's safer than the west (fires, earthquakes), the midwest (tornadoes), and the north (blizzards). At least with hurricanes, you get a fair amount of warning before they arrive... other than blizzards, none of the stuff I mentioned before has much, if any, warning.

I haven't liked being down here for many years, but I don't really have the ability to move. (Too many reasons to go into.) If I had my way, I'd probably live in Tennessee or North Carolina... somewhere in or aroubd the Smokeys. I've been to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinberg many times, and I've always loved it.

I really wish Spotify wouldn't assume that just I like country music, I must be religious and conservative, because I am very much a liberal and atheist. Ever since I started listening to country music on there I have been getting tons of ads for churches, and religious and MAGA podcasts.

Fires are my biggest worry up here. Haven't felt an earthquake in 6 years, and snow while annoying is manageable.
