I went out on a long bike ride today, planning to ride 56 miles, preparing for a half Ironman.
10 miles from home, I get a flat tire. I try to fix it myself, realize my spare tube is a size too big. So I try to get a car through Lyft. Like three times in a row, drivers accept the ride, then cancel it probably because they didn't see the note about having a bike with me at first. So I decide to text my parents finally. My father responds, says he just took muscle relaxants and can't drive, so he has to wait for his girlfriend to get home to be the driver. By then rush hour is picking up. All and all I'm waiting by the side of the road nearly two hours.
Deleted Lyft app right away, that's literally the ONLY situation I need it and drivers flat out refuse to pick you up if you have a bike. One of the people who confirmed then canceled had a f***ing Jeep Cherokee, explain to me why that guy didn't follow through?
