Things that frustrate us all

Hey, people who like the purchase things online, what the hell is this?

"Held at Post Office, At Customer Request"

I never made any requests. Tracking says my package went out at 6 a.m., then two and a half later that's the next message.

Yes. Virtually every single time there is an issue with the arrival of a package, it's the USPS.

Pops, my grandfather, worked for them for about 20 years. (He passed from cancer close to Christmas of '96.) He definitely encountered issues in efficiency and other things while working there. He was very much a by the book, high work ethic, highly efficient worker. I can still remember him filing grievances on a pretty regular basis on issues of people being abused or procedures not being followed because managers insisted of attempting to shortcut past established protocols and other things. (And mom having to proofread them, not because he was a bad speller but because he was quite... undiplomatic in his phrasing. Imagine my surprise, and pride, when I discover I am exactly like that in my work life.)

I also have a really good friend who works for them currently, and based on what he has told me... it hasn't gotten better. In some ways, it's actually gotten worse.

The moral of the story? I feel your pain.

If it shows up tomorrow, it likely means they sent it out on the wrong truck that doesn't go to my neighborhood.

Also, when you give someone the Postmaster General job with the purpose of making the post office worse, guess what happens? It becomes worse!

Where I work the lads have the radio constantly tuned to a “classic hits” station and God above the limited playlist is beginning to drive me around the bend.
This formula of playing the shit out of a playlist for a month, then replacing it with another list of songs for another month.
There are songs and artists that if I never, ever, ever heard again it would be too soon.

This has been radio, at least in the USA, for going on 20 years now. I recall studying it in communication class at a community college. Frustration of radio is now down to an art form it seems.

Back to annoying drivers, going down the road and the car decides that it is going in to the turn lane, no signal until after it was in the turn lane...well, that's rather pointless at 55 miles an hour.

I heard one of those stupid infomercials today where they literally said the phone number THREE FUCKING TIMES IN A ROW. What's the point of that? We heard you the first time!

And if I hear the phrase 'Camp Lejeune' one more fucking time I am going to scream.

That's an old marketing scheme that believes that if people say something 3 times that it is more likely to encode in a person's memory.

I thankfully have not heard that in a while (I will now though). I do however hear a local brake shop's adds all the damn time. Good marketing...I guess.
