Things that frustrate us all

Panic/Unprepared buyers.
As early as last week the weather forecasters were saying the Puget Sound area would get snow, and every day the amount total went up; first a dusting, then 6-8 inches.

Come Saturday and Sunday it snowed and we got the upper end of the forecast.

I show up for work this morning and there are people waiting outside for us to open to buy chains, antifreeze, de-icer, etc.

We were already low on all of those, and because of supply chain issues, who knows when we'll get them back in.

One person wanted to purchase our entire stock (75 bags) of ice melt for himself. We sold him fifty.

You know it's coming, buy it be before the weather turns bad. Be pro-active instead of reactive.
 
As if the many speed bumps in our community aren't bad enough, but why do I always get behind someone who has to come to an almost complete stop and creep over every single one :mad:?

I could see if they drove a Smart Car or maybe some kind of low-rider, but these idiots are almost always in an SUV or Ginormous sized pick-up truck. You know the kind the commercials claim you could climb a mountain with and yet you all are afraid of a three-inch high piece of rubber...really?

My experience in Chicago in the 90's was when they were in TEAM reporting mode, we only received a dusting. When they were calling for maybe an inch, that's when it was measured in feet.

:shrug: Truck tires and rims tend to be more expensive than passenger car tires and rims? I know I think about the cost of my truck tires every time I hit a pothole. Anyway, that's all I got.

The Karen euphemism needs to go as well. Tainting an entire group of people named Karen just because there was this one woman isn't exactly a SJW best moment.

Although in that case I'm biased, as my ex-GF was named Karen, and she wasn't like that at all.

Honestly, I never got that "let's pick a name at random and shame people with it" thing. What the fuck is it about the name Karen that people picked up on? It's a very nice name! :lol:

I mean it's like when incels keep calling people Chad. CHAD? What's wrong with that name? Did they just pull a rabbit out of a hat? It's random BS!

... and furthermore it's biased. Why leave out the Karan s and Karin s?

I reserve the right to consider Chad a hanging douche. ;)
 
And there's also an entire ethnic group with roots in SE Asia, last I checked, also known as Karen...so we have one more reason that we might want to look elsewhere for our insult-labels in this instance.

They're also the worst of the worst of backyard breeders and puppy mills...

Over the last 15 years I've adopted 3 older dogs from ASPCA raids on Amish farms, and though two of them recovered eventually and became very sweet, loving dogs, one just could not adapt and she remained so nervous and fearful - just constant shaking and hypervigilance for years - that I don't think she ever had a single moment of true happiness or peace.

Even with my vet, a trainer, a behaviorist, and a canine psychopharmacologist she just couldn't be calm or accept the love and kindness we tried to give her, and I'm heartbroken to this day when I think of what she went through.

We have the opposite here - everyone seems to try and go over them as fast as possible!

We need a different word to call out people who are entitled and abusive to wait staff. One with less friendly fire.

That toxic combination of oblivious privilege, absolute lack of empathy for others, personal entitlement and hostile oversensitivity needs to be called something.

Fair enough. But most of the time it's just fun memes that are calling out an anonymous person who abused a wage employee. I've never seen it rise to the level of doxxing or anything like that, but when it does, you're absolutely right.

In the case of memes, it's no different than a kids TV show having the kid who's a bully get slimed at the end. Maybe make the next person think twice before they demand a waiter get fired for forgetting the ketchup.
