Things that frustrate us all

We still have our landline because years ago, my job required me to have both cell phone and landline. We never got rid of it. Plus, whenever there's a hurricane, the power goes out for days at a time, so the landline may be the only way to reach help.

My frustration: Home Insurance policies that cost a fortune but don't cover any water damage of any kind. Not even from burst pipes or water heaters. Bastards.
 
New one for the list:

- Not sure about anyone else, but I’m finding a lot of the online ads are becoming even more obnoxious than before, with little social engineering tricks of ‘hiding the exit button’, making you wait 20-30 seconds before giving that option, etc. A new trend seems to be to not even display that at all — they just go full-screen and ‘take over’ completely. *ggggrrrrr* Annoying...

I hate that too! It's beyond frustrating.
 
That sucks! If they broke it, their employer should pay for it. They themselves very likely can't, given the wages cleaners usually are payed.
 
I just got a 2002 Honda Accord. It was sold as is and I am happy about it for the most part. Nothing that can't be fixed. But yesterday after only having the car a few days and driving it a few days. I opened up the passenger side door and left it open and went back into the house to get a few things. I came out and noticed the window was all the way down. I did not put the window down. It somehow is now stuck down in the door, it is stuck open. I tried to get it to close, but it won't. So I had to put this huge piece of hard plastic we had over the window, can't drive it like that, but it keeps it closed. And of course it rained. :(

That happened on my old chevette. Had to pry open the door panel to replace some clips that held the window as one of those had broken.(
 
My first car was an old Toyota Celica. It had manual windows. I was driving to college one day and when I got to the parking lot I saw a woman from one of my classes that I had a crush on. I parked next to her hoping I could walk with her to class.
I got my window rolled most of the way up and it shattered into a million pieces. I was so embarrassed but I laughed along with her.

On the inside of the door, right under the window, there should be a number of screws that allow you to remove the inner panel/padding of the door. Once open, you should see the window pane hanging inside the door in 2 or 3 small clamps. These could be broken or might have slipped. If they are ok, have a look at the wire they are attached to and which serves to lower or rise the pane. Maybe it's broken or slipped out of its fastenings. Both can be replaced rather cheaply at any good workshop.
 
My frustration today: they cut my home office back to only 1 day per week (Friday). Last Friday I had a technical problem with my computer. They replaced it with a laptop but to log in to the office net I need a dongle and a passsword. The password hasn't arrived yet so that for the second week I must work fulltime at my office, risking infection. I hope the dared password arrives on Monday. - I'd like to work from home on Tuesday as I have a medical appointment. From home it takes me only 2 hours, from my office it'd be 4 hours that I'd have to catch up with.
 
I hope the office gets you all set for working from home very soon! I know that it has been a relief to us to have that option during this time. My husband has been working from home since mid-March. He *might* return to the office in August. He's not in any hurry to do so.

My frustration today is that my church is *finally* going to be holding in-person worship service in a couple weeks (yay!), but...the restrictions they are placing on us are such that the most important parts (to me, anyway) of corporate worship won't be happening yet. So, we will continue to worship from home until things improve. I'm frustrated, and my kids are frustrated. :sigh: We want to go back to church. :(
 
our priest at home has sorted the church into one way lanes and people sit at 2 meters distance in all directions. Mass is held by alphabet: there are 3 masses every weekend and the alphabetical groups get rotated so that people needn't always visit the main one or the minor ones but have a bit of change. It works perfectly.
Unfortunately, in other regions things are less well organized and in northern Germany some 30 people caught the infection at church recently :(
 
It sounds very orderly. That's good. Our denomination believes that congregational singing is a critical part of worship. We don't have a choir or an organ/piano. We all sing together. And I love it very much. So, naturally, I miss it dreadfully. But they have decided that we can't sing yet. And, while I understand, I'm heartbroken over it.
 
My church hasn't yet resumed indoor worship but we do have one that's outside.

Me, I'm fine to continue worshipping online until the chapel service (the one I usually attend) starts up again.
