Things that frustrate us all

Nothing wrong with not eating gluten in your own home, I just think it's not reasonable to ask other people to sacrifice the food they want on social occasions if it's not a medical issue. I think that's the threshold for it being reasonable to ask a large group of people to eat less tasty food.

I wish there was an evening class for basic household and car maintenance. The stuff you’re supposed to learn in shop before all schools axed it.

I had trouble starting my car this morning. Turned out it was because of huge acid buildup on my battery. The first time I ever popped the hood for this car.

Then you go to a technician with this sort of thing and get the polite judgment of your lack of car knowledge.

I need to learn this stuff but not sure how cause it’s the sort of thing society assumes you learned as a kid.
Youtube has tons of useful stuff.

Personally I think they should teach both shop and home ec to both boys and girls, and that sort of thing should be part of shop. :)

Many did so decades ago, even I was there at the time... Of course, since then the skills didn't get passed down since the ol' high school now has metal detectors and armed guards and stuff to teach kids with.

Some of the even-then decades-outdated films they'd shown in home ec were embarrassing too...

After spending the Festive Period feeling ill and under the weather, I'm once again under the influence of a virus of sorts and I feel fucking lousy again.
Great start to the year.

My office is usually open. After all, our customers have to get in. But from today it'll be locked up like Fort Knox: a colleague got a murder threat from a former employee today and the police takes the threat serious.
It's pretty hard to believe - I've known that guy for years and he was always very friendly. Everyone thinks he must have some sort of mental illness or perhaps a brain tumor or somesuch. It's pretty horrible to have to be afraid of someone you have known and trusted for so long. It reminds me a bit of my granny who during a stroke suffered such massive brain damage that afterwards she was insane.
On the other hand, it must be pretty terrible for the sick person to believe the worst of everyone else and to be so scared of them as to want to kill them. It's a lose/lose scenario from whatever angle you look at it :(

Sorry. I've had a bad cold since just before New Year's Eve and I'm still not feeling 100%.

I hope everyone stays safe.

The Internet is doing its job to sicken me again today.

Any Facebook group in which somebody posts a message about Kobe Bryant’s death ends up with a comment section full of people complaining that celebrity deaths get more attention than everyone else’s.

well, that's in the nature of the thing, isn't it? People talk about them because they are celebrities and they are celebrities because people talk about them. Nobody talks of the other deaths because those people weren't celebrities because nobody talked about them.

Frustrating thing atm: woke up at 4 and couldn't fall asleep again. And my anxiety fits are back, though in a mild form only. I think I'll have some homemade honey fudge to cheer me up and the carbs be damned :p
More frustration: gotta go to work now - it's 6 am

When the "reduced salt" gourmet peanuts you bought still sting your lips from the salt content.

Something similar happened once when I bit into a nice-looking bran muffin. :wtf:

I read a local news article earlier and reacted with disbelief.

The organization who mistreated me over the neighbour disputes were recently given an award for providing the best service in the country. Also for having the most improved service. This was a little over a year after my last dealings with them. I never received an apology or an admittance of error - not even last year before the awards were held. The politician, who couldn't look me in the eye when I went to him for help three times, had his picture taken with them.

Understandably, it's frustrating. Almost a slap in the face.

Next week, I'm due to see the doctor again about the lingering health problems that they caused. Still having trouble keeping the symptoms under control.

that sucks :( Maybe you could involve the media? I imagine that such a story might be good for a fat headline.
On the other hand, the organisation would then try to strike back and that'd be a prob. Maybe the best tactics would be to hire a good lawyer and leave everything to him/her.

Three fucking times in the last two days I've had the cops at my door, they are looking for my next door neighbours
Here's a fucking tip, why don't you chap their door instead of getting me out of bed in the morning?
