My annoyance today is with professors that don't understand / can't be bothered to read simple directions.
I am in charge of surveys for the entire university, not just you. I get dozens of requests to create and distribute surveys, and that's ON TOP of my official position's duties. That is why, right there on the request form, in big, bold letters, it says "requires two weeks notice." and not "we will build this whole thing and launch it immediately for you, oh Lord and Master."
So what do I get? "OH MY the students are going HOME this has to launch TOMORROW."
You have a fucking doctorate. How is it you cannot READ???
And of course if I am AWESOME ABOVE AND BEYOND my job and have the survey ready to go out tomorrow... then even IF I insist in my reply to you that I need that two weeks notice because this was a fluke, you will forget that immediately and simply do the same damned thing NEXT semester... AND probably tell all your colleagues that "oh, that two week thing is just a guideline, he can do it faster." Well, maybe I CAN, because I AM THAT FUCKING AWESOME but it's a GODDAMN PAIN IN MY ASS AND I HAVE OTHER SHIT TO DO.
