Things that frustrate us all

This wasn't recent, but I was selling some stuff on Craigslist, brand new but below cost. Someone tried to lowball me by telling me the price he's offering is what he can get them for on eBay. 1) If you can get it for that price on eBay, why don't you? 2) You realize I can look it up on eBay and see you're lying, right?

I was watching TV the other day, something I do rarely these days. Someone said that he was a professional hypnotherapist and when the host asked him a few questions it turns out that his particular "method" of healing was to make someone become aware of his "former lives"... The host started making fun of that and then he must have realized that he was about to lose the dumbest part of his audience and continued by asking "serious" question of the guy. I mean the dumbing down of TV is appalling!!!

The reason why I tend to stay away from the regular broadcast networks. The smart stuff is on public broadcasting, cable or other subscription services.

When programs suddenly decide not to work.

I had to uninstall and reinstall 3ds Max.

It decided not to show up in my Autodesk Desktop App (Launcher) anymore.

I should have known something was up earlier tonight when my keyboard shortcuts decided to reset themselves.

TF is going on here?!?

My annoyance today is with professors that don't understand / can't be bothered to read simple directions.

I am in charge of surveys for the entire university, not just you. I get dozens of requests to create and distribute surveys, and that's ON TOP of my official position's duties. That is why, right there on the request form, in big, bold letters, it says "requires two weeks notice." and not "we will build this whole thing and launch it immediately for you, oh Lord and Master."

So what do I get? "OH MY the students are going HOME this has to launch TOMORROW."

You have a fucking doctorate. How is it you cannot READ???

And of course if I am AWESOME ABOVE AND BEYOND my job and have the survey ready to go out tomorrow... then even IF I insist in my reply to you that I need that two weeks notice because this was a fluke, you will forget that immediately and simply do the same damned thing NEXT semester... AND probably tell all your colleagues that "oh, that two week thing is just a guideline, he can do it faster." Well, maybe I CAN, because I AM THAT FUCKING AWESOME but it's a GODDAMN PAIN IN MY ASS AND I HAVE OTHER SHIT TO DO.

I have a coworker who takes days to get to my pull requests even constantly reminding him this is blocking front end development. Then when he raises one, pushes me to review it immediately.

Same person who constantly forces 45 minute arguments revisiting made decisions because he never lays down the argument until he has a way to sign his name to the chosen idea.

Easily the most selfish coworker I’ve ever had to deal with.

Edit: And by the way, I'm 90% sure part of the reason he stalled is that he's working in the same files that I am and he wanted to and wanted me to have to deal with rebase conflicts instead of him.

When you balls it up at work and are up for a bollocking by the person that approved every step of the plan.

And when you realise that you’ve ballsed it up again, but the person most affected by it hasn’t noticed yet, three months on, suggesting they’re not doing their job at all, but you know you’re up for a bollocking.

It’s bollocks.

They've changed a few things since I've gone to a nearby town. Some streets that used to go one way, now go the opposite way. Even with my familiarity with the place it took me quite some time to get where I wanted. I was thirty minutes late, the one day when I really needed not to be!

The last time I visited Doncaster, after almost twenty years, I recognised almost none of it.

Barnsley has changed a fair bit, but nowt like Doncaster. I don’t like change.

When you try to start a conversation with a hispanic woman and she says "no hablo ingles." So annoying.;)

Just because I donated money to your worthy cause doesn’t mean I’m inviting you to call me constantly and send me three fundraising letters a day.

Leave me alone dammit! I’ll see your ads on Facebook anyway and it won’t annoy me!

Save your energy for the awesome thing you are doing that made me want to donate and stop calling me! Hear me, Doctors Without Borders and ACLU!

I know the feeling. Waiting for the bollocking is in someways worse than actually getting it.

This is the main reason why I have stopped donating. These organisations bite the hand that are feeding them.

I’ve stopped giving to any charity that pays its executives a huge commercial salary. It’s scandalous. Town is littered with chuggers intercepting shoppers and workers on lunch, but they’re all on a wage, minimum wage. If I donate five pound a month, but cancel it after a year. I won’t have even covered the daily wage of the fund raiser. I want my donation to count, and fund raising has become a self defeating industry.

Never any sleep —> sleep medication—> too much sleep —> too much energy —> tranquilizers —> withdraw from tranquilizers —> reddit /conspiracies black hole —> repeat

It's even more annoying when you see her later start a conversation in English with someone else. :rommie:
Reminds me of a comedy sketch from a few years ago called Big Train.

A woman in her car stops two cyclists on a country lane to ask for directions, in English. The two look at each other and shake their heads. ‘Sorry, I didn’t understand a word of that, they say’, in English. And the sketch continues in that vein.
