Things that frustrate us all

What must I do to get you off my back?

Just name it. As long as it is less painful than shaving my head with a cheese grater, I'll do it.
I think you have me confused with someone else. I haven't even posted in the same thread as you in the last couple of days. And sheesh, touchy much?

What part of "get off my back" do you have trouble to understand? I am not interested in your "mind" games.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand...

Extremely horrible traffic along the main freeway in the region, which seems to be getting worse and worse with every passing year, especially when construction is going on and the freeway is reduced down to one lane.

Hey @locutus101, they're just having fun with your typo of "pick nick" instead of "picnic". No need for going off like that.

Sojourner is a repeat offender. He follows me around the forum and comments on my posts like the little troll that he is. He never says anything about the substance of my posts, just little trollish remarks like that. What I am supposed to do? And speaking of little ticks that irritate the hell out of an honest man. I believe he qualifies as one. He is a case in point for the topic of this thread.

If you think there's a repeated pattern of harassment (which is not something I have witnessed), you can notify on the specific posts and let the mods deal with it, or PM us with links to some examples. But publicly calling someone a troll is unacceptable, especially over something that frankly is just a mild tease over a typo that deserves nothing more than playing along in return or laughing at yourself. You shouldn't take this stuff so seriously. We all make mistakes like this. It's no big deal.

I am sorry. I just want to have an honest conversation with normal people I am not used to people specialized in heckling others. I guess he did that to destabilize me and it seems he succeeded.

No, you take it too serious. I'm pretty frequently on the receiving end of some leg-pulling when I misspell something or confuse homophones. It's all just good-natured teasing. The fact that you're being included is rather a compliment - it officially makes you one of the family.

Today's argh-moment: I've been invited as a witness in a case of pretty extreme water pollution and my boss basically wants to ghost-write the statement for me. Hey, I've been doing this job for 23 years now, I've been in the witness box before and I'm 52, not a kindergarten baby.
Male control-obession vs female self-confidence. We'll see who wins in the end

These stupid automated sales calls with the recorded voice that starts off by saying, "This is a vital call for a particular reason." Really?

I wonder what would happen if I introduced an automated call to my voice mail.

argh!! Tonight is a lunar ecclipse over Bavaria (and Britain) and it's totally cloudy. Why is there always rain, storm or fog when something interesting happens in the sky?!

The c**t in the Kia Sorrento who line-jumped and nearly rammed me while I was moving up to where the drive-thru line splits into two lanes, and then had the GALL to glare at ME. Lady, even the guy in the car behind me called you a bitch for what you did.

Your pinched and ugly face is seared into my memory. Pray we never encounter each other again.

Try living in the UK

Solar Eclipse - Overcast check
Metor show - Overcast check
Lunar Eclips - Overcast check

It's 99.9% certain if there is any sort of celestial event on just expect bad weather.

I can relate on that one! Almost every time that there's an eclipse or something else happening in the solar system... it's almost bound to be either cloudy or raining where I'm at.

I was an avid stargazer. As a young man, I worked a WHOLE summer at a frickin' church camp (did I mention I'm an atheist?) for the money to buy a really good 10" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.

I forgot I live in Pennsylvania. Maybe 25 clear nights a year, most of them in winter. Plus the damned thing weighs 75 pounds and I have a bad back.

Haven't even taken the thing out of its BOX in 5 years.
