Things that frustrate us all

Sad. Shall I send you some? I do love my Siracha!
Thanks, but I'm trying alternatives. First up is Tabasco's Sriracha. (Frank's does make a sriracha but initial search hasn't turned up in the one grocery store I checked.)

I like Frank's as my go to mass produced hot sauce
My wife is a big fan of Frank's. I personally like a wide variety of hot sauces for different foods. Tabasco is my general hot sauce, sriracha on Asian & hardboiled eggs, Tapatio for Mexican food, and Frank's on cooked eggs and chicken.

I can't find my Huy Fong Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce! There had been a shortage earlier in the year, but it's really having an impact now. Poor pepper crop in Mexican has decimated their primary ingredient. Having to find alternatives.

The HORRORS!
(First World Problem!)

Love this on tuna salad sandwiches.

My go to hot sauce is the Taco Bell brand Taco Sauce.
I thought of something earlier I wanted to post in this thread, but now I can't remember what it was. So now I'm frustrated that I can't remember what frustrated me.

Mrs. Silvercrest and I found a recipe to duplicate Taco Bell hot sauce. I make it for her once in a while. Should whip up another batch; it's been a few years.

So do we. But it amuses me to be able to make it. Hmm, perhaps this is the wrong topic for Things That Frustrate Us All. Maybe I should discuss failures.

Okay, then: The recipe in question came from the Top Secret Recipes books by Todd Wilbur. it is infuriating, the number of recipes in those books that CANNOT be replicated the way he describes.

I was driving from Maryland to Massachusetts today, 7-8 hour drive inherently. When I got to the George Washington bridge, the split between the upper level and the lower level, Googlemaps doesn't say stay left or stay right, just says go straight.

A local would know the reasons to take the lower level instead of the upper level. I take the one that says "Express", and instantly the time estimation goes up by 25 minutes.

Like, really, Googlemaps could not have said "Hey, stay right, the direction cars go on this bridge, as you have driven through New York maybe six times in your life and don't know this."

I've noticed a lot more people in the grocery store lately pulling their shopping carts from the side instead of pushing them from the front using the handle. It's almost like they're trying to take up more space in the aisles.

One thing that drives me crazy at the grocery stores is the big displays they put in the aisle now. Some of them have so many in them that you can barely get to the products you're after, and don't have enough to pass other shoppers.

Agreed. I hate that, too. It's actually a safety hazard... easily a trip hazard.

I can't stand most online shopping. I'll look at it, but I'm still so old school that holding it in my hand and finding it is still very appealing. I visit a grocery store at least once a week. Somethings I have to see in person, usually fruits and vegetables.

Plus, you can check the dates of the products on the shelf yourself. It's amazing how often you find out of date stuff on the shelf... and how often I've had to point out said product to staff at a store. People don't rotate. That's not only a waste of food, but that's a health and safety hazard.

(It's a major pet peeve of mine. I have basically trained my wife to always check the dates of everything she gets before putting it in her cart. It took years before she finally saw what I was talking about, and I even remember the exact incident... we were at a Publix and getting some Toll House butterscotch and chocolate chips that were on sale for baking for a sleepover with our niece and nephews. I checked the dates... most of the bags were 8 MONTHS out of date! And it wasn't just the Toll House brand... many of the brands in that set were out of date, though 8 months was the furthest out I found. Needless to say, I showed the manager on duty there just how much of the set was out of date, and simply said, "You might want to consider rotating your product once in a while." I know I came off as condescending to him, mainly because my wife mentioned I did, but I didn't care because while I worked in that industry I always rotated my product... that's the proper way to work with groceries.)

My wife is trained in food safety. Yeah, it's not ever not checked the date. If I buy out of date stuff it's within a month and non preserved items like cake mixes.
