Things that frustrate us all

Loud ‘Preplanned’ activity at the local nuclear power station at 11pm upsetting everyone within a five mile radius. That’s a bit frustrating. Half expecting a knock on the door and uniforms advising us to leave the area for a while.

hopefully they're right about the preplanned part.

I get frustrated when I watch guys play guitar in an effortless manner
Then when I play, I get red light fever and sore fingers
the effortless manner is just an optical illusion plus a lot of practise.
Keep trying - the fingertips will develop calluses, it just takes a few weeks. Stage-fright is a different problem and everyone reacts in their own way. I have wobbly knees beforehand and am usually totally calm when I'm playing. I manage to blank out the audience by concentrating completely on my fellow musicians and my part. Like a very concentrated practise session.

I really wish that patrons wouldn't take our policies, which we have for very good reasons, personally and act as though we are targeting them for abuse by refusing to help them with passwords, personal information, or in finding out whether someone is on our premises or not. I promise you, stranger I have never seen before today, I have nothing against you for anything other than getting testy with me when I have to tell you no, and if you were to hang around all day and watch my interactions with everyone else, you would see me telling all of them no for the same things you asked me to do. Also, if you would engage your critical thinking (or your ears when I tell you this very thing), you would realize it's a very good thing we aren't allowed to make your e-mail passwords for you, fill out your Social Security forms, or tell any Tom, Dick, or Harry who calls us where your child is. Not everyone who works with the public is trustworthy, and plenty of people will call and try to find out where others are for unsavory purposes. /end rant-ish

I have developed an ingrown toenail. It's particularly annoying when you like to run long distances. It happens to me once in a while but each time it irritates the hell out of me! I have to go see a podiatrist now.

I've been playing for six years, I have calluses, but still get sore fingers and bizarrely I get tendonitis in my thumb on my fretting hand.
Barre chords are a pain in the arse, and finger picking styles are beyond me. I left it too late to start learning, and when I did start, I picked up too many bad habits that I can't shake.
I've played in a band set up, which I enjoyed, but my playing suffered a little because I sang as well, and I found it difficult to master both simultaneously.
I get what you're saying re the optical illusion, but some players just look so natural and unfussed when playing, unlike myself.
Another source of frustration is when home recording.
A tune that you know and can play no problem any other time, suddenly becomes a fucking problem to perform.
Sorry to waffle on.

LOL naah, no prob at all. And I know all too well what you mean about the recording problem. It's like having 10 thumbs all of a sudden.
If it doesn't impair your grip, bandage your wrist - it supports the joint and might help a little preventing a tendeonitis.
As for the sore fingers - have you tried thicker strings? Or rounder ones? Some cheap brands use a hexagonal core that's covered with thin wire. The result is a string that's still very distinctly hexagonal. The edges can cut pretty mean. Some brands make a cut into the edges so that the core gets 12 edges instead of 6. These are much rounder to the touch and cause less injuries. There used to be perfectly round ones (Vinchi), alas, they are no longer being produced :(
After I had a tendeon injury, I no longer have the strength for a proper barre, so I cheat by pressing the middle finger on top of the forefinger if the chord permits it. Else I simply play a different fitting chord (or cheat by using the thumb).

Thanks for the advice
Cheat chords are my speciality ha ha
I'll try thicker strings

I've heard of fraudulent online services, supposed to give you legal advice and are in fact a guy reading the corresponding article on Wikipedia. It's total bullshit but some people fall for it.

Working today with a group of newbies. They have all been emailed instructions telling them exactly what to do today. It's all done online, and the instructions say exactly what sections to go to and in what order to do so.

So, did we proceed through the training sets in a logical order?

No. My stupid raters take off in all directions like a group of frightened chickens, clicking on everything that has nothing whatsoever to do with training.

Me: Did you get the instructions that say "click on A, then B and then C?"

Rater: Yes, I sure did! (clicks on X, R and W)

You might want to ask the podiatrist about having that pesky ingrown toenail laser-zapped. A medical pulse laser is used on the edges of the nail bed and that part of the nail doesn't grow anymore. Your ingrown nail is permanently cured. The only caveat is that you'll need pain medication for a few days following the treatment (it's basically a small, controlled third-degree burn).
