I was watching a TV show with the captions on, and the captions incorrectly said "pouring over" a couple times when a character was actually talking about "poring over" documents, etc. She definitely didn't mean spilling coffee on them or something like that.

Me too! I figure I'm miserable anyway, better to be miserable at work and save the off days for kids and the missus! I also try hard to share my misery with my co-workers those days.I'll normally work through my typical illnesses, and I'll use my "sick" days more for mental health days, when I just don't feel like working.
I sense it's about time for another thread to debunk the notions that too much money is spent on the space program, and that it isn't relevant to us ordinary people here on Earth.Oh, it pisses me off when any yahoo talks about NASA as if its taking some huge amount of money away from social programs/the taxpayer. (The average American* believes that NASA gets around 24% of the federal budget.) LOLNO.

I've never had one, but have you considered a Murphy bed?I measured my room again last night trying to decide if I'll rearrange it (again).
It's 8-inches longer than it is wide so technically I could gain 8 inches for my desk chair, but if I were to turn my bed, it will not fit against my back wall because then it will be in the way of my back door leading outside and I would need to leave a little space to get by my bed if I had it toward the front of my room which would then negate the 8 inches I would have gained by spinning it.
So, I'm kinda stuck with things the way they are.
I really wanted to get a new desk but the one I was looking at is 30-inches deep as opposed to my current 24-inch-deep desk. I hardly have enough room for my chair as it is. I think they only gain is that I could move the rack under my desk and I'd have more room for my chair to tuck under when I'm not using it, but I would still be squeezed when I'm actually sitting at my desk.![]()
I thought about it for a while, but I'm not sure I could give up the bed I have now! I've never slept so well.I've never had one, but have you considered a Murphy bed?
People who keep calling you to say the same things again, again, and again!!!
It's hard when a loved one isn't doing well and you're not close by. I hope your mom feels better soon.Got a call at midnight that my 85 year old Mom was in the hospital with pneumonia. I was awake most of the night, worried. Had to work online today, until just about 3pm. Got a text that Mom was sitting up, eating but coughing, still feeling crummy.
Have to work tomorrow and hubby has a gaming day tomorrow. I am trying to convince him to leave early so we can drive up to see her.
The whole family was going to get together at Mom's on Monday for 4th of July week. One sister is flying in with her kids on Monday; other sister is just 5 minutes from her, and balking at having to deal with everything, like looking after Mom's dog. This is the person I usually describe as loser-sister but that doesn't begin to describe my contempt.
i would drive up Sunday on my own but my tires are bald, my breaks are bad and we're expecting storms all weekend.
I am a giant ball of tension and anxiety. Mom had TB as an infant, and any bad virus usually ends in a chest infection for her. But she's 85 now.
I'm freaking out.
When you get punished again and again for being the target of some maniac!
