Things that frustrate us all

Damn it DNC. Is there any way to give you money without getting constantly harassed by telephone and email the next several months?!

The Democrats?

Yeah, it’s starting to piss me off. Just because I want to help them seal the reawakened ancient evil back in its mountain dungeon should not make them think I want to constantly get fundraising calls or alarmist emails with fake surveys and fake deadlines.

Like, yes, we are on the same side in wanting to deliver the Sword of Light to the Hero of Destiny, to allow him to restore power to the seven gems and return the ancient orange demon to its eternal slumber as prophecized by the ancients. But give me an option that you leave me the hell alone.

I guess they're like the birds in the Park, they always go to the people who previously threw them bread crumbs...

Yeah, but unlike birds, they should be able to tell the less they bother me the more bread crumbs they will get. The most effective fundraiser for the Democratic Party is Trump.

Tonight I'm staying over at my dad's house. My neighborhood turns into fucking Iwo Jima on the night of the 4th. It goes ALL.NIGHT.LONG. :brickwall:

I would wholeheartedly support the idea of simply banning fireworks year-round.

They're completely illegal here. Doesn't make the slightest bit of difference. Acres of dry grass add to the piquancy.

In my area, fireworks are banned within a lot of municipal areas. The kids still set them off anyway. The next morning practically every residential street looks like a disaster area.

I've heard that sometimes they set a house on fire and if the owners are away from some reason when they return they find a heap of ash where their house used to be.

I didn’t realize so many people disliked fireworks. We had a lot in my neighbourhood for the July 1 long weekend, but I rather enjoy them... I get to see a fireworks display without needing to leave my house! :D

I guess I might feel differently if I had to work weekends and needed to get up early the next day or something.

Woke up just after 4 AM to the sound of my neighbour's smoke alarm. Then I heard my other neighbour saying 'get out of there.' I checked my front door peephole and saw white smoke pouring out into the lobby.

So... I got my coat and shoes on. Nobody was raising the alarm despite the fact that my bedroom is 16 feet away. When I opened the front door, a strong, sweet smoke burned my throat.

Long story short, I think my neighbour was half drunk/half asleep and had forgotten they were cooking something. Really effing stupid. I offered to call the fire service to be safe and because the smoke was overwhelming. Although my neighbour kinda got irritated at that and downplayed it.

Then he said that it was the first time that he'd seen me since he moved in two years ago. He kinda quizzed me on that. Seemed defensive. To be honest, after dealing with a long line of crazy people, I like to keep myself to myself.

Then, I sat on a park bench outside with some of my neighbours. I was still coughing now and then. One of my older neighbours could pretty much tell that the drunk neighbour didn't seem to care much about the situation and called him out on that. Although, kitchen repairs were mentioned. Not sure if that was an excuse.

About twenty years ago a man lost three fingers on his right hand (he was right-handed) because he thought he knew enough to handle safely his own firework. One of the.. exploding things... did so too close to his hand... The police said that he was lucky because he could have as well lost his arm, or become disfigured, blind or even dead. Some things are not to be left to amateurs.

Hubby decided to finally trim the crepe myrtle in front of the house, so I went to help. I held the ladder while he cut branches and handed them down to me. Not a problem...until he handed down a bunch of small branches AND the saw and I grabbed it with my bare hands. Luckily, I quickly pulled my hand away but I still managed to scrape the pads on two fingers on my left hand.

It's like having instant burns on your fingertips.

OW. :scream:

Ouch.
They must be very different crepe myrtles than the ones in my yard. They are in full bloom. I trim them in late November usually.

You can still find other stores that physically sell popular things but no other option for “Obscure psychedelic folk album from 1974”.
Your best chance for these is propably yard sales and flea markets. There are old record shops but those are rare and frankly I'd not send a vinyl record by mail. It can get extremely hot in cars and trucks in summer and it's very hard to return a wave-shaped record to a state that allows you to play at least part of it.

I'm generally looking for that single small print CD edition of it. :)

Yard sales might have rare gems once in a while but do not solve the problem of not having "Basically anything" as their selection.

When you try to get to a cookie under a tight wrapper with only your hands to do so and getting to the cookie means destroying it. So you're reduced to eating crumbles!!! Quite annoying!
