Things I Will Miss About Disco

I won't miss the seasonal update to uniforms
dont worry, you won’t miss that: Picard did it as well, SNW debuted with different uniforms than the ones they used for the Enterprise on Discovery and Prodigy managed to introduce several new uniforms in a single season. So far the only new trek mantaining a somewhat sane approach to uniforms has been LDS.

I won't miss the seasonal update to uniforms (thought the last iteration was pointlessly complicated and unnecessary) but otherwise I'm not one to fuss too much over uniforms changes and pip placement etc.
Funnily enough, the reason they changed them for Season 4 was because the grey ones they had in Season 3 apprently did not film well against the Discovery's sets. It had nothing to do with them actually wanting to change the uniform.

The uniforms didn't change at all between Seasons 1, 2 and 3 (for the Discovery crew at least), so I'm not sure how it was 'seasonal'.

Nope, we have no knowledge one way or the other. Lorca ended up crossing over on to the Buran, the crew got killed, and he began his machinations. Prime Lorca never found his way home.

He's just waiting for that one final leap that will be the leap, err wrong show. lol
Maybe needs the timer from Sliders

Funnily enough, the issues with that uniform designs were obvious from the start.

Season 2: the Enterprise uniforms
Season 3: 32th (and 27th or so in the trill ritual) uniforms
Season 4: new 32th uniforms.

So yes, they did introduce new uniforms each year. Just like Picard did.

Also, Strange New Worlds introduced like 3 different new designs for the enterprise uniforms in the season one alone.

I guess tongue-in-cheek couture fashion jokes don't read well on these forums. Think Starfleet HQ Fall collection 31st c. The Discovery Look Book for Spring.

I miss Disco already, after Paramount+ was canceled here and the replacement Skyshowtime doesn't show it.

What I'll miss about DSC:

1. Saru, Culber, Stamets, Vance...all really good characters who made their mark on the franchise in my opinion. I would include Tilly here, but she's already off the show.
2. The weekly excitement. DSC is really (still) the only show in the franchise where it still feels like literally anything can happen week-to-week. It's a very interesting show in that way, and it's part of what made it so engaging and exciting.
3. Some of the character dynamics. Saru/Burnham was a really interesting dynamic, for example...I'm not sure it was ever fully explored, but I always like the two of them.
4. The sets and production design for the most part were great, although I have absolutely no care at all for the S3/4 props and designs. They all seem so forgettable and generic.
5. The high-paced, heavy action orientation that reminds me of the most electric parts of the Kelvinverse movies. That's DSC's niche...
6. Secondary characters like Owo and Detmer.

What I won't miss about DSC:

1. Throw-away characters who had early potential but never developed properly. Adira, Book, Gray, Reno...I'm looking at you.
2. A lack of internal world building and consistency. It is very frustrating to me that the simplest things, like the visual fx consistency for phasers and torpedoes or, as others have mentioned, constantly changing uniforms, have made this series feel very disjointed and unconnected to itself. Lots of people complain about inconsistency with past continuity and canon. I don't care so much about that, but the lack of internal detail and consistency WAS admittedly frustrating to me, even with the timeframe shift.
3. The theme music. Compared to the other modern shows, the main titles theme really kind of sucks...as does the montage they play over.
4. As alluded to earlier, the S3/4 prop design and "updated technology" (super comm badges, detatched nacalles, programmable matter, etc) is......I don't know.....really not very good. I couldn't even tell you what a DSC 31st Century phaser looks like. Most of the new designs are painfully forgettable, as is the entire future setting. I'm hoping S5 adds something interesting to the mix.

I sure won't miss the Adira/Gray stuff either.

I have nothing against the characters when they are alone. Adira gets shit done, and Gray has that ninja vibe going (plus he actually has a JOB now, as a Trill Guardian). But whenever Adira and Gray were together, the action just ground to a halt. They never did anything but stand around and stare longingly at each other.

I will NOT miss that at all.

Although I admit I would have liked them to deal with Gray's loss of his symbiont. They just blew it off, like it was no big deal. Gray was a JOINED Trill - losing your symbiont is kind of a big deal! But Gray never dealt with it at all. I always wondered about that.
