Theory: Picard and Seven were or still are in a romantic relationship??

Were or are Picard and Seven ever in a romantic relationship?

it was on his ship. He went somewhere for something, and went to his quarters, and was surprised, or not surprised, to find Seven there waiting for him.

I assumed it was his place because he's pouring himself a drink, seemingly alone. I suppose he could be somewhere else, but wouldn't etiquette demand he ask permission before helping himself to some scotch (or whatever)?

I'm guessing he's reached that age where he doesn't care about etiquette anymore and is happy to serve himself regardless of whose booze it is.

Apparently all it takes to get some folks imagining a romantic relationship is for a male-bodied person and a female-bodied person to be in the same room and speak words to each other.
Sounds about right given some of the guys I've come across in this life. I made incidental eye contact with one and that was all he needed to chase me down the sidewalk near the train depot.

Only if Bryan Fuller would have wanted to write it in that direction...

Which he wouldn't.

While I do think her dialogue in the trailer had an air of familiarity to it (seemed she was busting his balls, tbh) I don’t know if a romantic relationship is what they were implying. I like the theory that she “knows” him (maybe even deeply) from when they were both in the collective! Lots of potential there.

I'm sure they had met at a "Borg Anonymous" group and became the best of friends just because everyone who has shared the same atrocity does.

There are many possible reasons, some even hidden in plain sight. I'm just waiting to see the first episode and go from there, being less than sarcastic as she seemed to be until then.

After all, can the teaser being taken seriously since there's now (in Earthling and Romulan script) equivalent of "____ days since an accident" chalked onto the side of a gantry. or catwalk or whatever that was. The lighting, while the wrong color and oddly familiar background, suggests they're rows of Borg sleepytime chambers or Federation transporter platforms or something.

Actually, the Romulan woman who asks Picard if he forgot who he was (nice eyebrows and ears covered by big 80s hair) may be his ex, not Seven. But I'd rather make parallels between that trailer and, say, "Batman 66" except Batman 66 was intentionally campy.

Oh, if anyone wants a visual spoiler:

The white/blue corridor with Picard has a caption that adds more detail than what the teaser showed. Imaginative reporter or did they get more spoiler goodies and made a boo-boo?

We get a quick cut of Picard walking through a long corridor flanked by drones and led by a woman all in white. One guess I have is that this is an out of sequence scene, and might be from the facility Dr. Jurati works at; Picard’s clothes are different from the scene before, for one thing, so it’s certainly a possibility.

It's entirely possible that line wasn't from the actual scene, but was edited in for the trailer. We see 7o9 on a ship later in the trailer, which is probably where it's actually from.

There's not enough there for me to think they even know each other. She clearly knows who he is, but most of the Federation likely does.

If they were close, she would probably call him by his first name.

This is why I think they were colleagues who worked together on a (probably) Borg-related project. The windows and furnishings in that set sure look appropriate for Picard's chateau, but ... perhaps they're on a ship where the quarters include holodeck features so anyone can customize their space to look like anything.

Not necessarily... I've got friends who call me by my last name. Actually, I rather like being referred to by my last name rather than my first :)

Yeah, some of mine do the same

And the scene in the trailer reminded me on Mara Jade still teasing Luke by calling him Skywalker after they married in the old Star Wars EU. Actually the line from Seven could have been something Mara literally said to Luke

I can’t believe it’s three pages in and no one has done the:

PICARD WRITERS ROOM, ADVICE FROM PATRICK STEWART

‘And then her catsuit and all her implants fall off, but it’s too late....I’ve assimilated everything....’

I think they're acquaitences she probably remembers him when he was Locutus of borg.
