Because I know the source of criticisms and I know they have more to do with preconceived notions about what it is being seen and lots of knee jerk reactions (I'm surprised the planet didn't move a few inches to the right when the ship and Klingons were released).
As far as shortcomings go, I am lucky enough to have access to more inside information than most here and yet I
haven't seen the actual show, so I have no idea how I'll like the finished product. My opinions are based on what I'd objectively like to see for a modern show. I have lots of information about why I'd
think I'd like it and have revealed that in ongoing posts.
Yeah it is kind of sad when someone like myself with a sense of perspective of Star Trek history is excited and some others aren't. Sometimes things are just good, and people feel wrong for feeling that way, like they don't deserve it. Many neurotic Trekkies feel this way. "There has to be something wrong with it!!"

Trekkies have a habit of thinking the sky is falling, and I'm much too positive and upbeat a person to be included in those ranks.
Anyway, yes I have complained about a few things including the very poor video quality of released material, which in some sense I understand because a lot of the work in the videos were temp FX. I could also complain about the 2.0 sound, which is acceptable but not ideal..having since watched some CBSAA episodes. Early on I complained about the delays, when I was mentally ready for the show in January of 2017.
Reviews will be out Sept 19th and after and I'll decide for myself on the 24th. Even if DSC isn't as good as I expect, I doubt it will reach the lows of some of the lesser episodes of previous Trek series, and will probably be at least as good as my two least favorite. In the end, it's the first new Trek show in 12 years, for a franchise we supposedly like by coming here, and the studio has put a staggering amount of resources into it. As Trek fans we're pretty lucky in the entertainment world. Too bad some don't realize it. Pity them.
