The WONDERFUL things in life

A teenaged daughter who bakes awesome cakes. She's wonderful for many other reasons (and also drives me around the freaking bend, but that's part of a teenager's job description), but the cake thing is what she's doing right now. :)

comfy pajamas

Absolutely!, evenings are getting a bit chilly around here; right now I'm in my (blue) TOS pajama and robe.

  • Making coffee (not just drinking it).
  • Eiswein.
  • Gin.
  • Candle season (as of today we've lost 5 hours 35 minutes of daylight).
  • Freshly ground black pepper on your food.
  • Travelling by train.
  • Realising you can go beck to sleep after awaking with a shock thinking you're late for something.

Putting copious amounts of cayenne pepper on my food.

Star Trek Voyager podcasts.

Sleeping.

Daydreaming.

Comfy pillows!!!

Smiling.

cream-coloured ponies and crisp apple strudels, doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles, wild geese that flie with the moon on their wings ... :)

...these are a few of my least fav'rite things. :p

My cat comes over to me when wanting attention. Though in this case, "attention" usually means "treats", even if there's food in the bowl.

another wonderful thing: listening to the rain while lying in bed.
Watching the snow fall outside from a warm comfortable sofa is also pretty nice.
Any one of my favourite things ever: those 5 minutes between evening and night when everything is submerged with this beautiful velvety blue light.

a blazing fire in the fireplace with hot cocoa and teeny marshmallows

It'd be kind of like hazelnut hot cocoa, eh? Must find chestnuts now!

I doubt it'd be tasty, But you can puree roasted chestnuts and mix them with sugar and cocoa powder, roll them into cherry-sized balls and cover them with chocolate. Very yummy but you have to eat them at once - they keep only for 2 days in the fridge (1 day outside of it).
Frankly, I had all forgotten about the foreign habit of putting marshmallows into cocoa. When I was a kid we didn't have any marshmallows and when I tried them as an adult I found they were like sweetened rubber - not really my thing. Also, it's not a custom here to put anything into a hot beverage but sugar, milk or cream and perhaps a sprinkle of chocolate or cinnamon. Hence the concept of having sweets floating in a cup of hot chocolate is a little difficult to grasp.
Here, you usually get your cocoa served with a shortbread or chocolate cookie.

Strolling through the mall, on my day off, being frugal and only buying a few practical things for which I have coupons, and then discovering Supernatural and Doctor Who merchandise...and buying it.

Because I wanted it.
