The WONDERFUL things in life

I doubt it'd be tasty, But you can puree roasted chestnuts and mix them with sugar and cocoa powder, roll them into cherry-sized balls and cover them with chocolate. Very yummy but you have to eat them at once - they keep only for 2 days in the fridge (1 day outside of it).
Frankly, I had all forgotten about the foreign habit of putting marshmallows into cocoa. When I was a kid we didn't have any marshmallows and when I tried them as an adult I found they were like sweetened rubber - not really my thing. Also, it's not a custom here to put anything into a hot beverage but sugar, milk or cream and perhaps a sprinkle of chocolate or cinnamon. Hence the concept of having sweets floating in a cup of hot chocolate is a little difficult to grasp.
Here, you usually get your cocoa served with a shortbread or chocolate cookie.

I'd be very well pleased with shortbread cookies or chocolate cookies with my cocoa!

Bought two mangoes today for two dollars each, bit soft but I moved aside all those blackish squashy ones until I found just over ripe perfection.

Congratulations! 2$ each is rather steep, though. Over here a big one usually costs around 70 cents.
We have exactly the opposite prob: you always got to find the only ripe one in a crate of hard green ones.
How are you going to prepare yours? (what this board needs is a recipe thread!)

wonderful thing yesterday: listened to a storyteller (ridiculous story of how a princess rescued The Red Pirate) and learned an ancient board game that's totally awesome =) It's called Hnefatafl: http://www.gamecabinet.com/history/Hnef.html

^We have one. You may need to scrounge around MISC a bit to find it though because I'm running out the door right now.

I like a good BLT. But now that I think about it, there's no such thing as a bad BLT. Bacon rocks.

So, bacon.

One of the best uses of mayo IMO. Though I probably go five years between them as they don't feature on menus here so I have to assemble it myself and never buy iceberg lettuce so never have the actual items.. but now and then I suddenly want to eat them for a few days and will go for it.

BLT = bacon, lettuce, tomato.

I can buy good BLTs here, and they all use the proper streaky bacon. I treat myself every once in a while.

If you want to make this sandwich even better, add a slice of American or cheddar cheese.

Yummy! :techman:

Conan, what is best in life?

Scotch, BLTs, and walking barefoot across freshly vacuumed carpet.

Actually, it's not a bad list.
