The Way of the Warrior

Just curious if this episode is divided into two parts on the dvd releases? On netflex it is one long episode. I am assuming it was a two part episode when it aired?

No, it was always feature-length, on broadcast and on the DVDs.

Might have been a two parter on reruns, the same things happened with other feature length episodes.

Yeah, most of the feature length episodes ended up being gyped to two-parters in syndication/reruns.

Sometimes the syndication versions ended up on videotape as well. The first version of the TNG finale "All Good Things..." I ever saw was actually the two-part version, as that was what got released here by CIC video. Only later did I get to see the uncut feature length version.

Something I've always wondered about this episode, was Dorn's voice lower in this episode than any other episode in TNG or DS9? It seems like when we first see Worf, there is something different sounding about him.

I love WOTW. For being Season 4, that outside space battle around the station was really impressive. Of course it got better for Call to Arms, but there was a movie feel about this episode that I really liked.

Worf always seemed to "butch" himself up when he hung around other Klingons. I never really bought into him as a real Klingon since he seemed to have so little sense of humor or really any genuine emotional expression whatsoever.

This is a pretty fantastic episode, almost (in some ways) a reboot/2nd pilot. Love it.

This episode had some of my favourite Garek dialogue in it too. His jokes to Bashir in the infirmary come to mind in particular.

It's packed with them isn't it. "Let me guess? You're either lost, or desperately searching for a good tailor?"

"Actually, I'm not sure Constable Odo has a mother."

Odo: "You'd shoot a man in the back?"
Garak: "Well, it's the safest way isn't it?"

I also love the moment where they make sure Garak knows of the impending Klingon invasion of Cardassia by calling him to the wardroom to measure Sisko for a new suit.

Sisko: "Don't forget the waist, I think I've lost a little weight."
Garak: "Oh, thank you, Captain. I believe I have everything I need..."

Yes, these two episodes were full of witty exchanges. I like Garak’s views on incurring damages.

BASHIR:They broke seven of your transverse ribs and fractured your clavicle.
GARAK: But I got off several cutting remarks that no doubt did serious damage to their egos.

What I have always found amusing about Worf’s behavior is that when among Klingons, he usually displayed human-like reasoning but when among humans, he often gave vent to his Klingon side. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

No mention of the root beer discussion yet? I am shocked, shocked!

There were two instances in Season four where we kinda saw the Federation from an outsider perspective. The first was this one with the Root Beer discussion (Which was great by the way), and the other was from Eddington when he compared the Federation to the Borg. It was great to know that the Federation may be good, but they are far from perfect.
