Because in "Self Help," Rosita confirmed that he's intelligent and resourceful--based on her experiences with him. His only fraudulent issue is the claim of a cure for the ZA.
I bet Eugene is smart enough to craft bullets if he could find the necessary materials.
Thanks. Gonna go check that outTrekker4747 said:Last episode of Season 2.
If people stay hung up on this thing or that thing, that one person did, in this season or that one, they're not really watching the show, they're jamming up the viewing experience.
It's still annoying that people who watched the CDC burn would think going into D.C. is a good plan, but meh...

I think Rick knows it's a mistake, which is why he suggested the full blown violence to begin with, and why he gives people the sideways glances when they suggest otherwise. It's important to note that he's letting the group decide on these encounters now, even if it might be wrong, because I think he knows that they can only act the way they're able, and are able to live with themselves. If he forced the issue of going in violently, and some of the group weren't up to it, it's just as likely to go off the rails as this exchange plan isI think Rick agreeing to try and negotiate was a mistake and will likely get Carol or Beth killed, if not someone else in the group. Already it is shown to be a problem with the cop who escaped (even though that sadly required Stupid Character™). At this point, Dawn does not know that Beth and Carol came from the same group. But Rick going to negotiate for them will reveal that, and I think it's only going to lead to trouble for them.
It's a good point. I suppose they could still do that before they get there. I guess if they don't, it could be so they can have a live exchange with some of the element of surprise on their side still. Even if you arrange it over the radio, the exchange still has to be done in person. So it's still the same risk, but now you've also showed your hand a bit. This way, they are an unknown element... sort ofThe one nit I have to pick from the last episode is why they had to split up to negotiate in person. Why not start the negotiations using the radios the Slabtown cops carry with them?

Looking forward to another great mid-season finale tonight.
What does everyone think?
Will there be another major character death? If so who will it be?
The popular opinion I've seen over the last week says it'll be either Beth or Carol.
I'm thinking Beth, but you never know with this show.
So sad. And Daryl has failed to save another one. He's going to be a mess.
I knew it was coming, yet I was still surprised when it happened. Very well done.
Story wise, this would be a good place for a time jump.
