The Walking Dead Season 2 Discussion *Spoilers*

I have not read/seen those. Do the zombies just head into the water and stumble across the lake bed until they hit the island?

The well zombie was gross. All that bloated flesh tested my gag reflex.

I don't know about islands: Zombi 2, World War Z, and the Forest of Hands and Teeth trilogy are all pretty clear about the dangers of underwater zombies.

And in Romero's Land of the Dead, the zombies walked underwater along a river bed to get to the survivors city on the other side.

I know we are talking about fictional scenarios with zombies here but still I don't think underwater-zombies make much sense, how come they don't float, what about currents?

Hey guys been a massive fan of star trek for a long time so I been trying to spread and learn the Klingon language..If anyone else interested there is an Iphone app that can help..links below x

:wtf: Just curious-how does this even tangentially apply to a topic related to the Walking Dead or even zombies generally?

and why do we think zombies in one incarnation are the same as in another?

Like any trope, for a zombie to qualify as "zombie", there has to be something it has in common with other things that qualify as "zombie." They won't all be identical, of course, but the core of any trope will be a shared set of traits.

Also, the discussion is fun. Fun is okay sometimes.

I was so brainstruck by the introduction of the Michonne character that I actually went and spoiled myself a bit by reading up about the character in the comics. I almost never do that. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how they integrate her into the story.

Love the finale. I'm not sure if this beat has been touched on but when Rick was giving the speech defending his actions he sounded exactly like Shane to me. Beware of becoming what you hate, and all that.

Not knowing anything about the comics I had no idea wtf was up with the big building in the closing scene, I actually thought it looked kind of like a mansion.

I was in bed last night thinking why don't they look for a lake with an island in the center? The zombies can't swim and you would be relatively safe. Or just get a boat and drop anchor. Sure you would have to leave and forage for supplies but you could possibly get a some rest.

Just get a carnvival cruise liner go down to the bahamma's and ancor the boat a mile off shore. Use smaller boats to get supplies. A zombie can not just walk out a mile into the ocean with currents and find the ancor and climb the chain to the boat.

Speaking that, what about all the naval vessels out at sea, they are zombie proof unless their own crew start to just die and turn to zombies.

Looked like a prison, and seemed to remember people hoping that would come up as a plot line, so assuming....

WOULD be a good zombie-free hideout, once you'd cleared the current (or ex) residents, of course. As far as fortified compounds go, jails have to be pretty high on the list.

^^^^^ The only thing safer I'd imagine would be an underground bunker or an island that has been completely cleared of the zombies.

In World War Z the US government is evacuated to Hawaii where they setup the new location to run the government. I'd imagine that Hawaii or a similar island location would be good for containment.

^Well, the bunker was safe. It was the activities of the residents that was the issue.

Which seems to be the problem across the board in zombie media. The only safe place in a zombie apocalypse is a place where there are no humans to fuck it up.
