The Walking Dead Season 2 Discussion *Spoilers*

How did they get them in there in the first place?
There are at least three young folks at the farm, who look healthy and fast on their feet. You could use them as bait, and then they just scramble to safety up the ladder into the hayloft. Zombies don't understand ladders. ;)

Speaking of that, is Maggie Herschel's daughter? There was another girl that we haven't seen much of - is she another daughter? The boy isn't Herschel's "kin" - is he a neighbor, boyfriend of the other girl or what?
And poor Glenn-- reduced to sitting at the kids' table and passing notes.
Yeah, I thought, yeesh, insulting. Did his heroic performance during the Timmy fiasco, when everyone else was being dolts, count for nothing??? But maybe he wanted to be near Maggie.

Awesome episode this week! The best episode of the season so far. Mostly because of Daryl, who has become the fan favorite even though he was never in the comics. The actor is also doing a great job with the character, showing off Daryl's badass side and his vulnerable side

Daryl is the man! The guy gets thrown off a horse, falls down a steep hillside, gets arrow stuck on his side, kills two zombies and makes it back up the hill after two attempts! He does this while his ghost brother gives him a verbal smackdown. The actors had really great chemistry. In the end Darly even survived getting a bullet through the side of his head, no thanks to Andrea.

Andrea you idiot! Could she have been any dumber?! She just proved to everyone why she shouldn't have a gun in the first place.

The rest was good too. Glenn is finally getting something to do. I'm glad Carol has finally stopped crying all the time and thought of the dinner idea to increase morale. She was really sweet with Daryl, who probably has never been treated so nicely in his life.

I can't believe how much I hate Maggie right now. She treated Glenn like trash.

I'm SICK to death of the Sophia storyline. This needed to end like three weeks ago.

We got the cool cliffhanger at the end with the walkers in the barn. I predict a huge bloodbath coming in the fall finale! I hope the walkers eat most of the annoying people.

Its good to know its not just me whos becoming a Daryl fan. The guy had a shitty upbringing, yet he's out there every day busting his butt and doing what needs to be done not out of some sense of duty like the ex-cops, but because its the right thing to do.
I just hope the writers don't do something stupid like decide he needs to sacrifice himself heroically, or have his asshole brother show up and he ends up turning on everyone out of some sense of family loyalty.

Andrea had better do something to redeem herself pretty damn quick, because between her whining about wanting to die in the first few episodes, and the crap with the rifle, shes quickly turning into the most hated character on the show.

Oh and one last trivial thing. This is the South, doesn't anyone say "Thank you." anymore? It seems like everytime somebody does something nice for one of the others, they just stand there for a few seconds, exchange uncomfortable smiles, then just walk away. The hell?

Thank you :)
Let me try this again, after watching this weeks episode, I was starting to wonder if they TV show will deviate from the comics in the following way
Do you think we might get Daryl/Carol as our May-december relationship instead of Dale/Andrea?
Carol and Daryl have had some tender moments that could be built on, him bringing her the rose, her bringing him dinner. Also, with everything Daryl has been through looking for Sophia, it would be easy to build that emotional connection when they find her.

I'd have a hard time swallowing a Dale/Andrea romantic relationship now, it's felt way to parental so far. Andrea has been somewhat abusive towards Dale since he saved her life, and while his tolerance of that treatment is right in line a parental role, its out of place for a lover to put up with that unless they have no self respect.

Whoo hoo, it's zombie night again! :bolian:

Interview with Laurie Holden that explains the character-building purpose of Andrea nearly offing Daryl.

See, everything is part of the plan. Give the writers a chance to develop the characters and show us where they're going with them.

Although I'm not sure what show Laurie has been watching if she thinks Daryl is "loved by all." Maybe the actor is really popular on the set and she's getting him confused with his character. ;)

I do like where they're taking Andrea's relationship with Shane. If they want to leave romantic angles out of her relationships with Shane and Dale for that matter, that's all right with me. I'm getting more of a father-daughter vibe from Andrea and Dale anyway, and with Shane, it might go romantic or it might be more mentor-student.

Or maybe she's confusing his popularity with the audience. Even Dale said that everybody's wanted to shoot him. :rommie:

I think she meant "loved by all" fans. Right now Daryl is a fan favorite. Many people are now watching just because of him.

I remember reading a TON people on several boards calling for Andrea's head when they thought Daryl had been offed last week. It was so funny.:rommie:
