People... people! Please...

It's time to settle down.

We've finally gotten in our nominations for the next TBBS President, and we need to vote.

Now, remember as you're placing your vote that who you choose will determine the character of the board. I encourage each of you that vote to remember this.

Voting is a sacred act that not everyone has the right to do, though all should. Be proud as you make your selection. Be proud of your candidate. Be proud to be a TBBS poster.

In other words, don't vote for Squiggy. :shifty:

Vote for Jenee!

We meet here at a time of great uncertainty for Trekbbs. The era of greed and irresponsibility in the Board Room and in the Premium Members Lounge has led us to a financial crisis as serious as any we have faced since the Great Crash of 2000. They said they wanted to let the Premium Members run free but they let them run wild, and in doing so, they trampled our core values of fairness, balance, and responsibility to one another.

Everywhere you look, the economic news is troubling. But for so many Trekbbsers, it isn't really news at all.

600,000 posters have lost their forum since their television show went off the air. The number of sub-forums are falling. Your post count doesn't go as far as it used to. It's never been harder to post or reach the higher lounge; to post nonsense or serious retorts; and if you post it with any detail or thought, the board will probably eat your post. In so many forums and subforums across the board, it feels as if the dream that so many generations have fought for is slowly slipping away.

I know these are difficult days. But here's what I also know. I know we can steer ourselves out of this crisis. Because that's who we are. Because that's what we've always done as Trekbbsers. Our message board has faced difficult times before. And at each of those moments, we've risen to meet the challenge because we've never forgotten that fundamental truth - that here in Trekbbs, our destiny is not written for us, but by us.

There are many to blame for causing the crisis we are in, and that starts with the speculators in the Premium Members Lounge who gamed the system and the regulators in the board room who looked the other way. It is an outrage - an outrage - that we are now being forced to clean up their mess.

But we have no choice. We must act now. Because now that we're in this situation, your posts, your life post counts, and the stability of our entire URL are at risk.

[…]

Now it falls to us. And I need you to make it happen. If you want the next four years looking just like the last eight, then I am not your candidate. But if you want real change - if you want an URL that responds with speed, and that works for Regular Members and Premium Members; if you want fast loading pages for the those forced to live with UGO ads; if you want post counts you can afford and titles that are snappier than 4chan’s; then I ask you to knock on some doors, make some calls, talk to your neighbors, and give me your vote. And if you do, I promise you - we will win Miscellaneous, we will win this election, and we will change Trekbbs together.

Vote for me, and I will make it happen!

I voted for ZR.

I couldn't resist voting for Anarchy. It's just too funny.

It is ironic, don't you think? :guffaw:

I never asked to be a figurehead for this cause. This is the People's Cause. We are fighting for freedom against any form of rule and hierarchy, which is intrinsically corrupt and unfair.

It only goes to show that The Man has no respect for political views that are contrary to their own, and will surreptitiously assimilate the opposing ideologies to make its point.

Yet, ironically, in order to fight the system, we ourselves have to be a global organisation. Therefore, seeing as a vote for me is essentially a vote for nobody, I can technically combine my votes with that of the final voting option AND that of the disinterested masses who care not for leaders. My appearance on the poll just makes the cause visible, and enables those still with the idea of leadership ingrained on their minds to express themselves in a way that the system accepts, thus getting our message across more effectively than random violence, strong language, drug use and scenes of a sexual nature.

Okay, who voted for Squiggy?
I did:devil::angel:
I sence a great disturbance in the Force..and also that Squiggy will win this election..and will lead us gloriously into a new era!:ouch::D:cool::bolian:

"Arise! Arise! Arise!
Million hearts as one,
Brave the enemy's fire, March on!
Brave the enemy's fire, March on!
March on! March on..for Squiggy!
Squiggy! Squiggy! Squiggyyyyyyy..Y!"

I voted for Jenee.

The sanest choice in a terminally insane and dysfunctional field I wouldn't trust with running a weedeater.

Whomever wins must, of course, realize that a violent coup d'etat is inevitable.
