"The Visitor" Line-by-Line

Sisko: Well, I'm no writer, but if I were, it seems to me I'd want to poke my head up once in a while and take a look around, see what's going on. It's life, Jake. You can miss it if you don't open your eyes. Now, what do you say you come up to the bridge with me and we'll watch the wormhole do its thing, and then I'll read what you've got and we'll talk about it. Deal?

Dax: I'm on it Benjamin, but we've got another problem. The power output from the warp core just jumped off the scale.

Sisko: Sisko to Engineering. Engineering, report. Dax, I'm going to find out what's happening down there. Stay here, Jake.

Jake: (Voiceover) Most of the time, I knew enough to do what my father told me. But that day, for some reason, I didn't.

Dax: Dax to Sisko - the warp coils are locked into a feedback loop. You've got to realign them, or the core's going to blow.

Sisko: I'm going to try shunting the excess power out through the deflector array.
