The Vanished

Falconer

Commander
Red Shirt
I am planning on running the tabletop RPG adventure, The Vanished, and, I was just wondering what would be a good episode to have the players watch beforehand. Any thoughts? Many adventures have an obvious tie-in to a specific episode, like “Ghosts of Conscience” to “The Tholian Web,” or A Doomsday Like Any Other to “The Doomsday Machine.” But The Vanished is a lot less obvious.

I’m thinking maybe “The Enemy Within” or something else that deals extensively with transporter malfunctions.

I’m thinking maybe “Dagger of the Mind” or something else which begins with the Enterprise approaching a Federation facility and having a nominally friendly subspace radio chat.

I’m thinking maybe “Operation—Annihilate!” to help set up the idea of the I’lglii.

Any thoughts?

Maybe Devil In The Dark - same kind of situation where the crew is n unfamiliar territory going after an unknown and not-understood life-form which may or may not actually be a threat.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. However, we will be playing ‘Witness for the Defense’ the following week, so we will be watching ‘The Devil in the Dark’ for that.

Hmmmm…. the only other thing I can think of would be to totally mislead them with The Trouble With Tribbles. They show -up at FDR-39 expecting the same kind of romp as was had at K-7, and you just throw them for a total loop.
