The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

It's sounding like Amazon's live-action Voltron movie could go straight to streaming. Who makes these decisions? I understand spending money on a marketing campaign where the movie underperforms is not a good thing, but if you spend $150 million on a movie and it goes straight to streaming, you're not getting $150 million in new subscribers.

This is completely related to Red One going bankrupt at the box office, breaking records on Prime Video, and Road House doing well on Prime Video. I think it's true because all the movies that Amazon will release in theaters will go bankrupt at the box office except for the new James Bond and Rocky/Creed movies. Also, profitability is not something that is measured by subscription. Prime Video has 200 million subscribers so far. I think that if a content is watched well on these platforms, there is also the profitability money earned from those views. In other words, this much viewing returns to us as this much money, otherwise it doesn't make sense to make such high-budget movies and TV series. Of course, since none of us know the internal accounts of streaming platforms, we can only come up with such theories.

Shemar Moore calls himself the Tom Brady of S.W.A.T. and compares going to the spinoff without any of his other cast members to getting traded to another team. And he says he will not apologize for continuing S.W.A.T. without them.

Latest rumor is that Disney and Lucasfilm wants to do more stuff with Bix.

Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns, Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo are reportedly in talks for a new Street Fighter movie.
