First I've heard, most accounts indicate Bull ended because Weatherly wanted to move on. Indeed, aside from the Eliza Dushku incident, Wikipedia makes no mention to any behind the scenes drama on Bull, at least on on Weatherly's Wikipedia page.
The 'Naked Gun' reboot staring Liam Neeson has a script, director and a release date of 15-July-2025. Seth McFarlane is producing.
It's promising, providing Neeson isn't serious to the point of non-entityness as he was in McFarlane's Western ''spoof.''
When I think of this idea I more think about that scene in Ted were he wants to buy a box of Trix cereal.
Yeah, if he can portray Frank Drebin like this, completely deadpan while everyone else acts silly around him, then I think the movie has a shot. That's what worked with the TV series.
I don’t think Neeson is funny in the way that Leslie Nielsen (does everyone playing Frank have to have the initials LN?) was. Even watch Nielsen being interviewed and his mischief always shone through. I know that they cast the Airplane movies with “serious” actors rather than comedy ones (Leslie was the Captain in The Poseidon Adventure) but I’m still not convinced that Neeson is the man to fill his clown shoes.
Watching his performance in Derry Girls does give me some hope that he will at least give an amusing performance but I’m sceptical nonetheless

Honestly, I'm worried less about Neeson pulling it off than I am about McFarlane. Not because McFarlane can't be funny but because his style of humor seems distinctly different than that of the Zucker Brothers.
I think McFarlane is kind of a perfect fit. I mean you just know he must love the old movies and even show. He does have a love for silly situation jokes. People might think he only does raunchy stuff but he doesn't. Part of me even wonders if he will set the movie in the 80's to avoid some of modern day issues with cops. Make some jokes at old cop show cliches tossed in with the Frank Dreben being a straight man to more wacky but low key situations.
The Working Girl TV show starred Sandra Bullock and Nana Visitor.
I remember Ferris Bueller because it was up against Parker Lewis Can't Lose, which was a better adaptation of Ferris Bueller than Ferris Bueller.
I hated that Miami Vice movie compared to the tv show.
